Ronan Likes Rocks!
The theory -
Ronan was recently moved from 4/0 "Ongoing: +2 Power for each card in your opponent's hand.
To 5/0 "Ongoing: +3 Power for each card in your opponent's hand.
This effect is so incredibly powerful, it turns Ronan into a build around card. Baron Mordo was also recently changed from "Your opponent draws a card. It costs 1 more energy." to "Set its cost to 6." Making him a MUCH better card.
This deck aims to maximize the value of Ronan while disrupting the opponent. If you have any questions about this deck, feel free to reach out to me here or on Twitter. https://twitter.com/WillowSnapping
Korg & Rockslide
Korg and Rockslide add rocks to our opponent's deck, this does two things for us. #1 - It adds low value cards to the opponents deck, ultimately devaluing the card draw from Maximus and Ronan. #2 - it all but guarantees the opponent will have cards in their deck to add to their hand.
Black Widow is a decent card on her own, but she also has positive interactions with our Wave, Odin, & Zola. In theory, Black Widow does have some anti synergy with our Ronan, but in practice its mostly mitigated by Maximus and Mordo.
Baron Mordo & Maximus
Baron Mordo's new effect makes the card extremely playable. Keep in mind, playing these two cards on the same lane is super valuable because it sets up a potential Odin play on turn 6.
Mystique is an additional Ronan. Feel free to play Mystique in a location completely alone, later in the game you can play Zola or Odin on Mystique after having played Ronan on 5.
Wave has a ton of synergy in this deck. Firstly she has direct combos with Black Widow, Odin, & Zola. Additionally Wave limits the number of cards the opponent can dump from their hand, effectively "buffing" our Ronan.
Ronan is our core build around card, to maximize his value we want to hit Mystique, Taskmaster, or Arnim Zola, but that won't be necessary every game.
Taskmaster is "kind of" worse Mystique in this in that his primary goal is to "copy" Ronan. With that said, Taskmaster CAN still be used to hit Maximus or Rockslide if you must.
Arnim Zola enables a lot of combo routes with this deck with both Wave and Ronan. If you play Taskmaster or Mystique earlier in the game & play Ronan on 5, you can play Zola on turn 6 to reactivate their effect targeting Ronan.
Leader doesn't have many specific combos in this deck, but he can secure otherwise unwinnable games. especially after the wave, odin/zola combo.
Odin can be used to reactivate a Mystique or Taskmaster, he can make Mordo/Maximus draw more cards, & he enables the Wave, Zola, Odin combo locking the opponent into 1 card per turn for 3 whole turns.
