Hit infinite with this deck yesterday (as of writing); Only Patriot and Ultron are from series 3, others are all series 2 or below
THIS IS A BUDGET DECK FOR THOSE THAT DON'T HAVE ENOUGH UNLOCKS
While I played a bunch of random decks early on, I started using this deck once I got above rank 50. If you're still under rank 50 it'll probably work even better to be honest.
Play pattern:
- Optimally you would get a curve of Patriot --> Kazar --> Blue Marvel --> Ultron, but it doesn't happen often; I often snap on turn 4 when I get to play this curve
- As of right now Enchantress isn't played as much as Shang-Chi or Cosmo, so this deck is pretty good
- But be cautious if people snap early without looking like they're winning, they most likely have an Enchantress so spread out your buffing cards
- People for some reason don't really expect Ultron most of the time (idk man)
- If Cosmo appears just play Ultron somewhere else but you can Onslaught if you have enough other cards played by the time
- Don't play your Cosmo carelessly because it is a great counter to stuff like Wong and Lockjaw
- I try to put Ant-Man --> Mister Sinister --> Shocker + Ebony Maw or Misty Knight + Ebony Maw to get a decent burst in power by turn 3
- Storm on bad locations such as Negative Zone or surprise people with Bar with no Name on turn 6 if you're confident
- Mister Sinister is very good on locations like Death's Domain or Luke's Bar
- I wouldn't consider Bishop/Angela because it kinda messes up your curve, and other 1-cost Kazoo cards don't provide enough utility
Upgrades/Swap-ins:
- Debrii: Very high priority; replace Storm/Cosmo.
- Provides insane utility, clogs up your opponent's board, puts cards in unplayable locations (Sanctum/Luke's Bar/ Death's Domain)
- Brood: Relatively high priority; replace Mister Sinister.
- Literally a better Sinister, helps when you want to play Onslaught instead of Ultron as well
- Mystique: THE ABSOLUTE HIGHEST PRIORITY CARD; replace Storm.
- I don't think an explanation is needed here, she is just a 2nd Patriot
- Mysterio: Relatively high priority; replace Mister Sinister/Shocker.
- Provides good utility, budget Debrii but can give an unexpected 5 power in locations when illusions are often 3 power
- Wasp: Very high priority; replace Ant-Man/Ebony Maw.
- Strong utility because she's 0-cost, also is just a better rock (you like rocks)
- Squirrel Girl: You already have this card; Replace Ebony Maw.
- I originally ran Squirrel Girl but just liked Maw's 7 power more, she is a completely fine and great choice, I just didn't like her
- Cyclops/The Thing/Abomination: You already have these cards; replace Storm/Cosmo/Kazar.
- Running these cards would mean that you're running a slightly different archetype, so you would perhaps have to change a few cards
- Doctor Doom/America Chavez/Hulk: Low priority/You already have these cards; Replace Onslaught/Kazar.
- Some heavy hitters, Nobody would say no to a Chavez to increase consistency, Hulk gives 14/15 power, Doom gives at least 7 power in other locations (Doom can replace Ultron in this scenario. but you would have to replace Kazar as well)
- Shang-Chi/Enchantress/Killmonger: Situational; replace Cosmo.
- Tech cards to counter common decks, consider if a particular archetype is running rampant
- Magik/Wave/Sera: Medium priority; replace Storm.
- Magik may accidentally help your opponent, Wave cheats out Blue Marvel/Onslaught early, but eats up a deck slot and a turn, Sera lets you pull off Ultron + Cosmo to counter big turn 6's
Perfect version of this deck:
- Wasp
- Squirrel Girl
- Misty Knight
- Shocker
- Mystique
- Patriot
- Brood
- Debrii
- Kazar
- Blue Marvel
- Onslaught
- Ultron
Deck counteplay:
- Destroyer: If they pull off a good Professor X, think about how a 16 power destroyer goes up against your own turn 6 and decide. Unfortunately most of the time I would be retreating
- DeathWave/Destroy: I actually beat this deck a good few times. Best scenario is they throw down their Death at your Ultron location so you actually have a good chance in winning. Beware of Killmonger and try to bait it out early
- Kazoo: Most likely you win because they won't be running Enchantress or Killmonger - Sera Miracle: Be careful of Killmonger and Enchantress, but you would most likely overpower their turn 6 play otherwise
- Lockjaw: Cosmo their Lockjaw and just play around other things like Jubilee - Hela/Discard: Keep track of what cards they discarded. They will almost always Ghost Rider and Hela turn 5/6 to bring back big hitters like Infinaut. Retreat immediately if things don't look good
- Spectrum: Uncommon later on but kind of obvious if every card is an ongoing. Try to predict with Cosmo if you don't have confidence in Ultron winning the game
- Cerebro: Extremely predictable, just add the 2 power to the cards in your mind and play around it
- Wong/Zola: Cosmo on turn 5 and beware of Wong bait to Black Panther + Zola combo on another location. Otherwise it's predictable and easily winnable, retreat without Cosmo and unconfident
Have fun playing!
