# General Gameplan
Although this is called a Guardians deck and contains several of the Guardians of the Galaxy, it is better thought of as a Lockdown & On Reveal deck. Your main strategy is to play Storm on 3 followed by Jessica Jones or a couple of Guardians on 4. Once securing one lane, you can secure a sizeable lead with Gamora in another lane and seal the deal with Odin, as an opponent contesting that lane will cause all of your effects to retrigger via Odin's On Reveal. As a backup, you can use your smaller Guardians to get a sizeable lead in one lane, lock it up with Professor X, and play your Odin atop Medusa in the midlane.
# Card Breakdown
[Sunspot](\<https://snap.fan/cards/sunspot/>): Although there is another 1-cost card in the deck, Sunspot is the only turn one play in the deck. It can add a threat to lanes that are "closing." Sunspot also ensures that you don't lose value if you skip a turn to make your guardians more powerful (the fewer lanes your opponent has left open to them, the stronger the Guardians get).
[Scorpion](\<https://snap.fan/cards/scorpion/>): Scorpion is a flex card in this deck. He generally makes your opponents plays weaker while not being easily destroyed himself, but if you want to experiment with another card, this is a good place to do it.
[Medusa](\<https://snap.fan/cards/medusa/>): She costs 2, she gives 5-power in the middle lane, and she can be retriggered to 8-power by Odin. This makes her one of the stronger cards in the game, especially if you expect to fight for mid.
[Rocket Raccoon](\<https://snap.fan/cards/rocketraccoon/>), [Star Lord](\<https://snap.fan/cards/starlord/>), [Groot](\<https://snap.fan/cards/groot/>): the Guardians of the Galaxy are best played in one of three circumstances. [1] They can be a low cost way to secure a lead in a closing lane. [2] They can be played to a lane where you have another on-reveal card and they will give the lead even if they do not activate. [3] If there's only one open lane left, they will regularly hit for their higher value.
[Jessica Jones](\<https://snap.fan/cards/JessicaJones/>): Jessica Jones is a 4/9 if you will not play to her lane next turn. This makes her an ideal way to secure a closing lane. Because she doesn't have the same secondary uses as the Guardians of the Galaxy, if you have the choice, use Jones for the closing lane and save the Guardians for the more restricted field of play.
[Storm](\<https://snap.fan/cards/storm/>): Storm lets you create a closing lane, allowing you to secure a winning lane early on while making your Guardians trigger their effects more reliably.
[Professor X](\<https://snap.fan/cards/professorx/>): Professor X let's you narrow the field of play. His ideal use is to singularly secure a lane (for example by playing him to a Death's Domain or Superflow). Otherwise his main purpose is to narrow the field of play down to a single lane so that your Guardians are guaranteed to overperform.
[Gamora](\<https://snap.fan/cards/gamora/>) & [Spider-Woman](\<https://snap.fan/cards/spiderwoman/>): If you have secured the Storm lane win, your preferred T5 will be to play one of these two cards as the 3rd card in a lane where you already lead. That said, never pass up the chance to use Spider-Woman on a full enemy lane if it will guarantee you the win (just remember to snap before your opponent realizes your win is guaranteed).
[Odin](\<https://snap.fan/cards/odin/>): If you have several Guardian (or Medusa) effects on a lane where you lead, Odin can almost always guarantee the win. Either the opponent plays into the lane and all your abilities re-trigger, or they avoid the lane and your win is secured. However, you should be wary of decks that use indirect power (ongoing decks in particular can spoil your plans with Mr. Fantastic or Spectrum)
