Brave New World Season
Witness Sam take the mantle and the shield of the greatest that ever was New cards, Mastery’s long-awaited arrival, and a brand new temporary game mode filled with tons of goodies await you in this Brave New Season!
Season Pass Variants
He Tianyou gets the whole season to show off his amazing art! I love the dotted texture he portrays and dynamic poses. If you are also a fan, be prepared to fork over a ton of keys because every spotlight variant will also be his.
Season Cards
Sam Wilson, the new Captain America, is flying by with shield in hand and justice in his heart. He’ll join as a 2-Cost 3-Power that sets his faithful Captain America’s Shield somewhere on your side of the field at the game start. Also, Sam has the Ongoing effect of allowing you to move the shield every turn which is quite cool because the shield gives +2 power whenever it moves to Cap’s location.
It goes without saying that the shield also grants the bonus to the classic Captain America–Perhaps if more Captains are added into the game they could also get buffed? Stay tuned for Captain Carter’s release.
You know, different from some posers, this guy actually had the effort of growing wings. Joaquín Torres, also known as Falcon, will fly in as a 3-Cost 3-Power card with the Ongoing effect of triggering twice every On-Reveal effect of 1-Cost cards played on his location. Basically, he has Wong’s text but only for 1-Cost cards. Interesting that we can pair him well with Moonstone. What crazy combos can we pull off with this guy
The card with the most powerful moustache so far? Thadeus comes in as a 2-Cost 2-Power with the effect of drawing a card with 10 or more power every time that your opponent doesn’t spend his entire energy. Is this Surtur’s new best friend or the deck is too optimal for him? We shall see
If he were a Pokemon Card he would be Flying and Psychic. Redwing is a 3-Cost 3-Power card with the powerful effect of whenever it moves for the first time, it plays one of the cards of your hand in the location he just flew off. Interesting, weird and difficult to handle. He doesn’t move by itself so we need some movers and we need some big cards in hand to take advantage of his effect. What deck could he be part of
Last but not least, Diamondback joins as the second Snake-Themed character on Snap. She is another 3-Cost 3-Power card that features the Ongoing effect of applying an additional -2 power to every opponent’s cards in her location that are afflicted with any negative amount of power. Keep reading to find a cool blue guy that should work great with her.
New Game Mode

Practice your latin and ready your magic capes! Sanctum Showdown is the next temporary game mode arriving this very February 18th on Snap. Different from conventional Snap, there’ll be no cubes and none of that 6 turns of gameplay.
The objective is to be the first to get 16 points by winning locations and it seems that the game only ends when it happens. Pay close attention to the locations because every turn one of them will be the Sanctum, worth more points than the others. The games will be insane and I love that board!
Playing Sanctum Showdown will allow you to buy so many rewards that I can’t even list it all here. I must say that the most insane thing is that you’ll be able to get up to 4 Unowned series 4 and 5 cards!

Also, three brand new cards will arrive exclusively through this event. Those are
The card that deserted from the War of the Nine Realms season. Laufey is chilling as a 4-Cost 6-Power card with the On-Reveal of stealing 1 power from every card in his location, that includes yours. Good thing he is arriving quite close to Diamondback. Is this the Ajax Renaissance
Now you can create your own Spider-Man Origin Story! Uncle Ben is a 1-Cost 2-Power card with the sad effect of whenever he is destroyed, he is replaced by Spider-Man. What the heck do we do with him as a card? Seems to be a meme but I want to test it out.
Arishem’s biggest hater. Gorgon is a 2-Cost 3-Power card that features the Ongoing effect of making every card in your opponent’s hand that didn’t start in his deck to cost 1 more. I mentioned Arishem but he wrecks a ton of different strategies like Thanos, Moongirl, and even Shield Agents. Never have I seen a more hateful card, neat.
Mastery

That’s not all! This February 11th, with the arrival of the new patch, Mastery is finally ours. We don’t know all the details but we know so far that every card will have its own Mastery Track that will grant exclusive unlockable rewards including unique flares. At the end of the track you’ll find the character’s reaction Set and a gold diamond flare.
New Locations
We got a couple of new locations this time around:
Smithsonian Museum was made for Sam Wilson Captain America and his shield! Madripoor seems like an interesting scaling piece, it’s a very “snowbally” location but be careful about snowballing too hard into Shang’s embrace.
If you’re interested in fancy strats about Hot Locations, stay tuned for my Location Lowdown series where I try to find the best ways to maneuver around these new and treacherous locations.

Conclusion
Pure, condensed, whole grain hype is what I feel about this season. What can I say, I wish every single season was as exciting as this one. New game mode to shake things off with a ton of rewards. Mastery rising from the ashes as they gave up on this feature a while back, glad to see them coming around after seeing how important it was for the players. And I can’t forget to mention the new cards. I’m most excited about Redwing, I’ll have to wrap my head around it to play it properly. But what about you? Are you as excited as I am? What is the card that you can’t wait to get your hands on? Any new variant that you hope to grab? Let me know in the comments!
