For this week’s top decks, we’ve got the results of 2 different tournaments this week. This article will cover the Top 4 of The Conquerors Winter Royale as well as the weekly 74-person single elimination event hosted by @cgaming_latam!
It is also worth noting before we dive into any lists that the Conquerors format may have limited the players abilities to tweak their decks some, but we’ll approach these lists assuming that these card choices are optimal.
Loki
This week remained a great week for Loki, claiming half of the decks that we’ll look at this week. Here is a chart to quickly see the different card choices among our 4 Loki players this week!
Lamby, winner of The Conquerors Winter Royale, was the only player not playing Quinjet, with Batvra incorporating both Beast and Quinjet, a pair not often found together. Shang-Chi remains the most common tech, with more players opting to cram in a Cosmo to stop Alioth and Blob, despite it affecting most cards in this deck too.
Others placing well this week with Loki included Attrix in Conquerors and ZeAmazing and Batvra in Community Gaming.
Blob
While Blob didn’t crack the Top 4 of Conquerors, (possibly to the format), it was able to take 1st place in this week’s Community Gaming LatAm event. I was able to cover the finals of that event which you can watch below. It was a truly incredible match!
Black Blob
This list attempts to maximize the power from Blob while taking advantage of Black Knight’s Ebony Blade, which now cannot be destroyed or have its power reduced!
Sanutora notes that Blob is obviously a Darkhawk Counter (the top deck of the past 2 weeks that made no appearances this week), but thinks it can also counter Loki because Loki doesn’t typically have big cards in their own deck. That plus Black Cat and the specific, synergistic cards in this list means it can give Loki some trouble!
Sanutora also shared with me several of his biggest Blobs throughout the event!
Sandman
Finishing 2nd place to Lamby, Amano’s Sandman made a return this week! A mostly forgotten card, Sandman does a great job at stopping Loki from dumping their hand against you, while Electro and Wave support a higher curve of more threatening, expensive cards for you to play!
Cerebro 3
Another exciting deck that hasn’t been as absent, Johnson took Cerebro 3 to the Top 4 in Conquerors as well. This deck looks to fight Loki by giving them weaker cards that synergize well together while also fitting in a deck of deck of almost half tech cards. If playing this deck, know that Magik can be a tough play in the current game where everyone is running Snowguard, and Invisible Woman now has to be extremely careful of Alioth!
Bounce Junk
As is true of the past 2 articles of this type, we’ll end with a short nod to bounce, with Jayteearr’s list this week also incorporating Sentry + Annihilus! Junk lists were possibly looking for ways to cut Darkhawk while still delivering points, and this is Jayteearr’s idea. Beast gives you another way to dispose of The Void, and the deck remains very flexible and powerful despite shifting some cards around.
