Series 5 - Premium Pass
To begin with, there is a brand new keyword, Horde. The first time you play a Horde card, you get a vanilla token on a random location called Zombie Horde. It starts as a 0-Power card but everytime you get more Horde procs, this token gets extra Power . It ghosts without saying but having a bigger Horde is not only flavourful but also strategic.
Not even death can deter this ever powerful witch. Zombie Scarlet Witch is a 3-Cost, 2-Power card that is the first Bearer of the Horde archetype. Whenever you play a card at her location, you get Horde +2. I suspect that she’ll be the cornergravestone of the Horde archetype as she has the potential of getting the most Horde triggers. Day one we won’t feel the full power of the Zombie Horde but she is just the patient zero of a full outbreak. There will be a lot of cards that will power the Horde throughout the season.
Series 5 - Super Premium Pass & Snap Packs
Now we can get a head start on our Destroy Decks. Headpool is a 1-Cost 1-Power card that whenever it is destroyed, it goes back into your hand and then gives all cards in your hand +1 Power. Is this guy joining the ranks of must-have 1-Cost for Destroy together with Deadpool and X-23?

Snap Packs Series 5
Finally Captain America received his much deserved promotion! Colonel America is a 3-Cost 3-Power card with the Ongoing effect of granting +1 Power to your other cards at his location for each turn that you discarded a card. What a weird card, huh? I suppose it is possible to discard every single turn of the game by starting with Blade, following up with Coleen Wing or Redshift, and taking off from there. If you manage to do so, Colonel will give +6 to every card at this location. But how realistic is that? We’ll need to do a lot of testing with this guy to make sure that he is more than a weirder Morbius.
Not even a literal brainrot can stop Zombie Mister Fantastic. He looks simple as a 2-Cost 2-Power card but he is so overstated that is no joke. Not only does he give you +2 Horde with his On Reveal, but he also has an Activate effect that gives +1 Power to up to 4 created cards on your board. By my accounts he can be a 8 Power spread on the field. Since the Zombie Horde is already a created card, we just 3 more to take advantage of his full power. Can you think of any strategies to put him to good use?
Dead but still with those luscious goldie locks. Zombie Captain Marvel is flying in as a 4-Cost 4-Power card with the Activate of not only destroying your other cards at her location and receiving +3 power for each but also she moves to another location that you’re losing. Now, this is my kind of card. I love janitors such as her that can clear my board and do something interesting with it. She can make sure that you’ll never lose another game to goblins again.
Oh boy, now this is something new. Zombie Galacti is a 7-Cost 4-Power card with the unique Start of the Game effect that tags 6 of your other cards at random. When you get Zombie Galacti onto the field, he turns each and every one of those cards into copies of himself with his On-Reveal. Weird and crazy, right? Two big issues with this card. The first being that Zombie Galacti costs 7 Energy, which is not playable without any extra energy shenanigans or some card cheating like Jubilee or Lockjaw. Also, It isn’t that great to transform your other cards into basically being a vanilla 4-Power card, so you might want to figure something out to give your Galacti some extra power for when the big transformation occurs. This will require a lot of testing and deckbuilding. Good luck!
Snap Packs Series 4

I guess Zombie Ant-Man was too silly of a name. Zombie Giant-Man is shambling in as a 5-Cost 3-Power with the On Reveal effect of granting you +1 Horde and then Receiving Power equals to that of your Zombie Horde. Another Horde archetype aficionado but a bit more interesting. The obvious route would be to slot in as many Horde cards as you can to get the most out of this big guy but what if you raise Zombie Horde’s power through good old fashioned buffs? It might require some deadication to get the most out of this guy.
I have a bone to pick with whoever is naming the cards. Zombie Power Man is a 2-Cost 4-Power card with the End of Turn effect of discarding your leftmost card out of your hand if you’re winning his location. Is this guy made solely to be played with Colonel America or does he have any other applications? Maybe another way to remove Agatha’s influence out of your game?
Series 4 - Game Mode Releases
Our second ever skill as a card. The Hunger is a 1-Cost skill that was made to support the brand new Horde archetype granting you +3 Horde with its On Reveal. When you play it you get a pretty big boost to your Zombie horde and… that is it. It would be a grave mistake to slot this in any deck that doesn’t focus on the Horde archetype.
Sadly there is no Zombie Void. Last but not least, Zombie Sentry is a 3-Cost 4-Power card with On Reveal of granting you +1 Horde for each card at the location to its right. to get the most out of this guy you’ll want to have a filled up location when playing him and don’t make it the leftmost location. He seems like a nice enough card but I don’t think the archetype will depend on him.
And these are all the Horde cards releasing this season. Do you think the archetype is going to rise up from the grave or it will rest in pieces? Let me know in the comments!

Conclusion
Spooky and scary, this is the kind of season I love. We have plenty to be excited about. Not one, but two limited time game modes with their own card to acquire. I don’t think they’ll be quite as rewarding as Deadpool’s Dinner was but they are always fun. Many new cards coming up, a new keyword and an archetype to boot. The one I’m most excited to put my claws on is my zom-bae, Zombie Captain Marvel. And what about you? Any cards that you can’t wait to play with? Throw me a bone and hit the comments!
