I’m back by (hopefully) popular demand!

Hey everyone, my name is Eddy, and I’m a Marvel Snap content creator. I’m here to share my love of Marvel Snap variants with all of you. With every new season and patch, the developers add new cards, features, bundles, nerfs, and buffs into the game, but honestly, none of those are quite as exciting as seeing all the new variants that get added (and also datamined) that players will get to collect and upgrade!

This month, we didn’t get too many new datamined variants unfortunately, but we still got over 40 new variants announced to release throughout the season (click this to see them all)! What new variants? Well… check out this video by yours truly breaking down all of them!

As per our previous article, it’s time for us to pick our top 5 favorites and 5 least favorite variants from that pool! There’s always so many good variants that get added that it’s always really difficult to pick just 5, but let’s do our best! As always, this is just a personal preference and I would love to hear from you guys which ones you’re most excited to get in the comments down below (or in the comments of the Youtube video!)

Before jumping into my selection, a lot of people might be wondering ‘What do you look for in a variant?’ and the answer will obviously be very different from one person to another. So, let me explain what I like and dislike from my variants in Snap to, hopefully, help you understand my picks.

First up, what I like...

I want my variants to take a card and change it drastically. Make the character almost unrecognizable. New suit, different colors, venomized, knullified, etc. Another very important aspect for me, which is a weird one, I know, is the background for a card. I never split my cards (Legendary border ftw) so I love having an interesting background around my character.

Next, what I dislike...

Pïxels.

O.K. let’s get into my picks!

Top 5 Losers

All The Pixels

Ongoing: Cards here can't be destroyed.
End of Turn: Discard this from your hand.
On Reveal: Destroy each card here with 3 or less Power.

  • Same as last month, I’m just not a fan. None of them resonate with me and it always breaks my heart when I get one. Cheers to those who love them!
  • The new pixel ones are Armor, Black Cat and Lady Deathstrike

Bucky Barnes

When Destroyed: Replace this with the Winter Soldier.

  • This one will change one day (hopefully) but now, any Bucky Barnes variant is unfortunately a waste. As soon as he’s destroyed, he’ll always turn into the Base version of Winter Soldier. Until that’s updated, all Bucky variants will sadly be a skip from me!

Cerebro

Ongoing: Your highest-Power cards have +3 Power.

  • This one, again, isn’t THAT bad, but Cerebro has better variants (The sentient one is excellent!). All other variants will, for obvious reasons, all look extremely like the base version since it’s basically just a helmet. I think this one is a pass considering the other variants you can get for Cerebro!

Ant-Man

Ongoing: If your side of this location is full, +4 Power.

  • Before anyone says anything to me in the comments... I LOVE DAN HIPP VARIANTS, but this Ant Man one doesn’t do it for me. Very basic and simple variant compared to the other Ant Man variants out there that have a lot of fun with the character!

X23

When Discarded or Destroyed: Regenerate this at a random location and you get +1 Energy next turn.

  • I’m very excited to play with this new X-23 card, but this variant is a bit too simple for me. For all gold split fans, this one seems like it was made for you! Anyone who enjoys the base cards before splitting them, this one doesn’t have much in the background, so it feels too plain.

Top 5 Winners

Adam Warlock

End of Turn: Draw a card if you're winning here. Otherwise, +1 Power.

  • Adam Warlock variants don’t miss, and this is just another fantastic one added to the list. On top of that, it seems like it’s only 700 Gold! If that’s the case, this is a must buy variant! Hopefully he gets buffed one day…

Attuma

End of Turn: Destroy one of your cards here with less Power.

  • I’m a big fan of Attuma and always enjoy adding him to non-meta decks and I finally got a variant of his that I like to replace his awful (although very terrifying) pixel variant.

Brood

On Reveal: Add 2 Broodlings here with the same Power.

Daredevil

On turn 5, you get to see your opponent's plays before you make your own.

  • Another month, another incredible Daredevil variant gets added! Last month I listed the yellow suit Daredevil, but it’s getting released this month! On top of that, we’re also getting this second amazing Daredevil variant. One of my favorite cards to play in the game and I can’t wait to add this variant to my collection!

Lady Deathstrike

On Reveal: Destroy each card here with 3 or less Power.

  • This is my most anticipated new card this month. Lady Deathstrike seems like the most fun card for me, so I really wanted to get a new variant with her release and this one is no doubt my favorite one. Such a drastic change of style, color, and theme from heroriginal version. I can’t wait to strike fear with her long fingers of destruction.

And that’s all, folks! Which variants are you most excited (and least excited) to get? Make sure to let me know what you guys think and comment if you want to see more articles like these in the future!
