With the first week of the season coming to a close, let's examine some of the different decklists that people have been using to hit infinite. Unlike a typical meta report that I write for Monday, this is not going to include the most effective tactic available. Instead, it will have different deck ideas that have helped different players in the community reach infinite. If you are struggling to find a deck that is helping you climb the ranks, then this is a place to get some ideas, or just net deck and get to infinite if that is how you roll.
Hitting Infinite
Before we dive into the decklists, let's quickly go over some general tips for reaching infinite rank. Many players become frustrated during this process, as a significant portion depends on time, and you're often at the mercy of bad RNG, which can lead to stalls. Generally, I recommend sticking with a single deck throughout your run, as playing with a deck you feel comfortable with is usually the best strategy.
However, if things aren’t going well and you're feeling stuck, trying a new tactic can sometimes lead to great success. The other important point to consider is that you shouldn’t stay in a game unless you are confident you have over a 50% chance of winning. Most of your games should end in a retreat. It’s easy to want to stay because playing is fun and you want to see how it plays out, but to truly maximize your potential, staying can be more harmful than beneficial in the long run.
Additionally, unless you are facing a bot, it's wise to snap early. Snapping demonstrates strength, and often you can win a free cube due to your opponent's uncertainty. While going up and down by one cube over an extended period can be discouraging, playing 4-cube games can be very beneficial for progressing in ranks.
Regardless, climbing the ladder can be a fun and frustrating experience, but this article isn't completely about how to do that and more about what decklists people have used to already get there this season. Typically on the first day! So let's get to it.
Infinite Watch
Selene Cope
I'll start with the list I used to reach infinite on the first day of the season. While this deck may not appeal to everyone, Clog has been my go-to choice for many seasons. I've been trying to make decks featuring Selene work at the top levels of infinite for the past seven months, and this one does the job well.
The Clog strategy is straightforward, and in my experience, as players climb the ranks, they often forget that combining Cannonball with a 1-drop can lead to a game-winning situation more frequently than they realize. Additionally, Agamotto spells have introduced some interesting and exciting combos that are both fun and powerful. There were several games where I won 8 cubes, even though I shouldn't have, thanks to Images of Ikonn.
This deck also has the advantage of winning against bots more often because you typically do not hold priority.
Jeet PF
This next deck comes from Jeet who is known for making Phoenix Force decks pretty exclusively. With this deck he posted to X, an above 56% winrate, and up over 150 cubes. That is pretty crazy. If you have not played a lot of PF then this might be a bit of a struggle, but the snapping and surprise of the deck is probably a lot to get a good portion of cubes out of players. This is one that I would run for a little in some Proving Grounds if you want to give it a try, but one that can be super solid and unique if you don’t want to be a meta deck type player.
Crazy Thanos
This next list is from none other than Crazy who loves himself some Thanos. I believe at the time he posted this, he was at a 65% winrate, which is pretty awesome when climbing. Granted it probably struggles against some Darkhawk decks, but I am not sure it struggles against a lot of the other decks running around. Having tech cards like Gorgon and Red Guardian as well as extra energy if you can pull off Wiccan or Agamotto Bolts. Seems like it would be a slam dunk especially with the stone utility and the spells not taking up any actual board space.
Kmbest Midrange
This is the deck that was shared by Kmbest. I'm not entirely sure if he reached infinite rank with it, but it’s currently a very solid Agamotto midrange option. The deck also features the powerful card Juggernaut, which can secure more surprise 8-cube wins than many other cards in the game. If you're looking for a straightforward strategy and want to incorporate the new season pass card, this deck is a great choice for you.
Arishem Blob
Arishem is always a reliable choice, especially at the start of the season when players are experimenting with new strategies. The extra energy generated by Arishem can often help secure victories against lists that are still being optimized. This strategy has gained popularity, particularly due to the Blob and Zola combo. While this combo doesn’t occur frequently, it can win games as easily as the Black Panther and Zola pairing does when facing opponents without any counter cards.
No Season pass, No Problem.
Anti Agamotto
If you dislike the season pass card and are frustrated by its popularity, this deck is for you. It aims to capitalize on the frequent use of the season pass card during the first week, specifically targeting Agamotto and Arishem. Although Gorgon is not essential, he can be quite effective in those specific matchups, adding value to your strategy.
Hela
Unfortunately, this is the hard reality: Hela is here to stay. If you want to run a deck that doesn't include all the fancy new season pass cards or any of the recent cards, this deck is your best option for reaching infinite rank. It's consistent, tough to counter, and features simple snap lines. It performs well against bots and has everything you need to quickly climb to infinite. So, unless Hela isn't your style, I recommend giving it a try if you're looking to reach infinite or at least improve your rank during your gaming sessions.
Arishem Eson
If you did happen to pick up the newest card to snap, that is not the season pass card, then this might be the deck for you. Arishem is just good and doing really well. The best part is that you don’t even need to run this list. You can change up the card choices to whatever you want, and you will still do pretty well. This list, however, is ZombiezGoNomNom list, which I believe hit infinite on day one with this list.
Affliction
The Ajax Affliction deck is still a strong choice and has been recommended by several players aiming to reach Infinite this week. I believe this deck is one of the easier options for those who have been playing for a while but may not have invested in the season pass. Most of the cards in this deck have recently been featured in spotlight events, and there are simple alternatives available if you don't own them. For instance, if you missed out on Iron Patriot, you can easily replace it with a variety of 2-drop cards without significantly impacting the deck's performance.
Doing It For The Low CL’s
Ongoing
If you're new to the game, the Ongoing deck is likely your best option for reaching infinite rank. Zoo is also a viable choice, but with Ongoing, you can incorporate a few cards from the last season's pass, allowing you to create a top-tier deck. This makes Ongoing a great option to strive for as you begin your journey in the game.
Ongoing Upgrade
Either way, I'd give this strategy a try when trying to get to infinite as a newer player.
Conclusion
Several other decks include characters like Werewolf by Night and Moonstone, which are also effective for reaching infinite rank. I believe that some of the classic decks, such as Negative and Discard, are still viable options. However, the decks mentioned are among the most commonly seen and have helped many players achieve infinite rank early on, especially within this first week. Have you reached infinite yet?
