You know, ever since this F.E.A.S.T. operation started, things have been going great! We help a lot of people here. What’s F.E.A.S.T., you say?
It’s an acronym for Food, Emergency Aid, Shelter, and Training. Here, the underprivileged and the homeless can get some help getting back on their feet. As I said, we help many people, and we always have our doors open for those in need.
It's weird that all the employees here carry Katanas and wear crazy Kabuki masks. I surely hope that is just an extremely weird dress code and not a front for an evil organization that is acting behind the scenes and using the goodwill of the people as a front for their evil stratagems.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask the boss. You can always find him in his office if he isn’t fighting that wall-crawling menace that Jameson is always telling us about. What does the boss look like? You can’t miss him; he is the only one wearing a white suit.
Time to F.E.A.S.T.
This Wednesday, the 9th, F.E.A.S.T. is joining Snap as the hot location. So prepare for this location to appear in about half of your games for a full day. But what does it do?
Energy Overload! Mr. Negative is always trying to manipulate energy cost, so it’s appropriate that his location is designed with energy in mind. For every card played in it, both players get +1 extra energy on the following turn. It's like a symmetrical Hope Summers is on the board.
Finally, we have a cool location to enjoy! Games that feature F.E.A.S.T. will be more fun because both players will be allowed to play more cards. To me, more cards = more fun. So I always enjoy those games where I can throw on the board every single card that I have.
But how do we best use that extra energy? Some archetypes could use some extra energy better than others. I suggest you play with the greediest deck possible and tone down a bit if it doesn’t work out. Let’s see key cards that love the extra energy.
High Evo unlocks some nasty abilities that get extra powerful whenever you don’t spend your entire energy. Evolved Hulk can Get huge! Also, Cyclops keeps shooting beams into your opponent's cards every turn that you don’t spend your entire energy pool, so jot that down.
Sunspot, my favorite Brazilian X-Men, can make sure that your extra energy isn’t going to waste, so feel free to include him in your decks, as he is extremely cheap and extremely powerful with the right setup.
She-Hulk is here fighting for her clients and taking advantage of the charity work provided by F.E.A.S.T. If you can skip turn 5 with just one extra point of energy, she’ll be absolutely free. Also, you can throw her into the board together with The Infinaut, the biggest guy in Snap!
If you’re facing an opponent trying hard to get some extra energy, you can punish him by dropping the biggest Red Hulk into the field. If you think the Evo Hulk is big, you have no idea how much this guy can grow. It's pretty difficult for some decks to spend their entire energy pool. With F.E.A.S.T., those decks will have a terrible time trying not to scale your Red Hulk.
There is one last guy that is all about energy. The forgotten powerhouse that is Havok can carry a single location, but his drawback is usually so powerful that most people don’t usually want to include him in a deck. With F.E.A.S.T. and a very low curve deck, you can play him earlier than usual and bask in his power without worrying about the repercussions of his mana-devouring effect.
I think that covers it. Shall we look at some decks?
F.E.A.S.T. Decks
High and Affordable
Starting with the most accessible deck of the list. High Evo is the only series 5 card that packs a punch. Everything I mentioned about his gang is true here. Sunspot goes big. You can let some extra energy go down the drain while your opponent’s powers get drained by Cyclops. Your finisher is a nasty combination of She-Hulk and one of your other 6-Drops.
Toxic Evo
Second and last High Evo List. This version is completely focused on the toxic aspect of High Evolutionary. Focus on reducing the power of the most enemy cards. If you succeed, besides making your opponent's side of the board weak, Abomination becomes free, Ajax turns into a powerhouse, and your opponents go cry on Reddit.
Blutz Waves
Where have I seen giant monkeys and some sort of connection to the moon Before? Nevermind that. This deck tries to use the new and enhanced Black Swan to make one or two powerful monkeys with the help of Moon Girl. She-Hulk is here as an alternative to your monkey business. Use F.E.A.S.T. or Hope Summers to achieve the sweet spot for free She Hulks on the last turn. Be careful with restrictive locations because this deck could use the entire field.
Take Everything and Give Nothing Back!
Mill with style! Remove your opponent's options with every turn of the game. By the end of it, it won’t matter how much extra energy your opponent has. He probably won’t have any cards left. Prioritize getting Magic on the board. The extra turn she provides can be fundamental to your attrition war against your opponent.
Rolling Rocks
I got the new card, and I intend to use it! This is an extra deck that I’m featuring as a playtest for you guys. It seems quite technical, but it should look familiar. Try to stop your opponent by playing Korg, Master Mold, and Rockslide, and replay their effects with Grandmaster or Misery. Finish with your Darkhawk or Ronan, followed by Mystique.
Afterthoughts
I feel like I love F.E.A.S.T.! I’m always happy when a new location shows up that allows me to play more cards. Games that it shows up will be quite interesting, featuring a ton of power being dropped onto the board. After its debut, F.E.A.S.T. will be an uncommon location, meaning that it won’t appear that often, but it will always bring a smile to my face when seeing it.
What about you? Do you think this is a good addition to the game? Do you have any secret sauce to bring to F.E.A.S.T.? Let me know in the comments!
As always, I'm glad you're here, and I’ll see you at the next one!
