You better sharpen your claws some more, Marvel Snap is unleashing two brand-new Weapon X inspired locations designed to push your power management and your ethics to the absolute limit. Whether you find yourself standing in the cold sterile halls of a mutant Hospice or staring down the brutal machinery inside Essex’s Lab, this season is all about escalation, and raw power. Strap in, steady your healing factor, and prepare to snap with adamantium precision.
Hospice - December 10th
Hospice is deceptively peaceful. Any change to card Power is doubled here, turning any small change into massive swings. Every archetype that manipulates Power skyrockets in value. You want to drop cards that scale, ramp, absorb, or copy boosts. Hospice rewards carefully planned stacking, early set up, and keeping your buffs flowing.
Prime Test Subjects
Shuri remains a top scientist and a great option. Playing her into Hospice allows us to create monstrous stat lines. Man Spider is the new king of doubling up but even if you don’t have him, Black Panther thrives just as much, doubling, redoubling, and possibly doubling some more. Toss in Absorbing Man or Taskmaster and you are settled with some powerful finishers.
If you prefer to ruin your opponent’s plans. Hazmat decks enjoy irradiating everything on the board. Since debuffs are doubled, your oppression becomes twice as deadly. Add Luke Cage to suppress self harm and enjoy watching opposing boards melt while your Ajax thrives off their pain.
Another strong option is to use your favorite destroy deck. Since I want to play with both Shuri and Adamantium Infusion, I’ll be rocking my Nimrod deck. But I suppose any deck that features Kid Omega would go incredibly big on the Hospice.

Essex’s Lab - December 31
This is the place where the Weapon X program took shape. After turn 4, Essex’s Lab destroys one of your cards and then redistributes its Power among your remaining cards at the location. Why? Science of course! Essex’s Lab rewards snappers who can either feed huge power into it or who can weaponize destruction triggers. Timing is everything here since you need to be ready for turn 4.
Prime Test Subjects
Once again, any Destroy deck feels right at home. Cards like Deadpool, Headpool, Wolverine, X-23, and Sabretooth turn destruction into profit. Stack your chosen target early, let the Lab vaporize it on turn 4, and watch the redistributed Power give you an overwhelming lead and a free destruction trigger to cheapen Death and invigorate Knull.
Oh what's this? My card that has a very powerful body but awful text got demolished by the location and its power went to my other cards? Such a shame. It's time once again for Nightmare and his gang! Get your Ebony Maw, Electro, Redskull into the blender and see who comes out on top. This version of the deck features the nerfed War machine but quite a lot of ways to ramp into him.
Now we are conducting highly experimental science. Fantomex is my most anticipated card of the season because he will allow us to try out a hybrid deck between the Discard and Destroy archetypes. Since this location will arrive only at the end of the month we will have access to everything needed to experiment. Don’t forget to collect both Marrow and Wild Child on the way.

Hey there, Bub. This time around we got some cool locations but they heavily favor Destroy decks. To be honest, most of the season favors Destroy. If you’re not a fan then you’re in for a sad season I suppose. It’s part of the pendulum that Marvel Snap season’s tend to be. Hopefully next year’s Dragons come to surprise and elevate our experience to new heights, until then, let’s destroy some cards.
