Location Lowdown – Rocket Pad & Reed’s Lab
The special number of the season is 4 but I’ve got a great 2 for 1 special just for you! We’re going through the new locations being featured this month and when you can expect them to show up, also, as a bonus I’ll give you some crucial tips to get the most out of them. So buckle in and make confident first steps toward victory with our new locations that offer unique twists to the ever expanding list of possibilities into our matches.
Rocket Pad - July 16th

It’s not about going fast, it’s about having a strong start before the lift off. Rocket Pad rewards early momentum and tactical positioning. You’ll want to commit smartly to this location before the bonus kicks in on Turn 4. You won’t need to win the game here—just win the first half and let the +1 Power start tipping the rest.
The only issue is trying to get that extra power and somehow not clog yourself in the attempt. This location pairs beautifully with mobile cards and strategies that rely on a powerful early tempo. Even just one extra Power can matter in close games, and stacking it across several cards might be the nudge you need.
Try bringing in cards that bring good enough power to win the location and some to move them later.
My favorite card for this location would be Rocket & Groot but here is a nice list for you:
You could also play powerful early game cards and to make sure that you can still surprise your opponent, play a Helion on turn 5 to scramble your opponent’s ideas on what to do on the last turn.
Lastly, fill this location without worries and bank on Human Torch First Steps carrying your team to victory with the extra boost and his powerful double up. I do believe that The Thing's First Steps would also be great at this location but we can’t get our hands on him just now so let's settle for the hottest member of the team for now.
Let me tide you over with a couple of decks before talking about the next location coming further ahead.

Excelsior!
Hell Ball
Defence Surfer
Reed’s Lab - July 30th

I’ve lost count on how many labs we have!
Reed’s Lab doesn’t just reward you, it enables you. If you manage to fully occupy the location, your energy economy immediately skyrockets. The bonus starts the turn after you complete the lab, meaning planning ahead is key.
Want 4 Energy on Turn 3? Then get to work filling this spot on Turn 2.
One critical detail: you must remain full to keep receiving the bonus. Losing a card here mid-game—say to Killmonger or a bounce effect—turns off the juice. So keep that lab sealed up tight.
Huh Reed’s Lab is asking for the very same type of playstyle. So once again those same cards and decks that I feature before would also work greatly with this location in mind. But since there is no laziness in science, I’ll try giving you some extra stuff to do.
One unique thing about it is that this location is practically begging for decks that want to cheat big plays early. The extra Energy lets you skip the build-up and drop your heavier threats ahead of the curve.
My favorite archetype that would gladly fill a location and take some serious advantage from the extra energy is the High Evolutionary gang:
We could also play a deck that features the always incredible Madame Web. We could either go full move or perhaps even feature the majestic Redwing into the cutely nicknamed “Goodbird” archetype.
Let me slide you some cool decks for the day. By the 30th, The Thing First Steps will be available so I got you a deck featuring him, as a treat.

Twenty Bucks' Special
Get the Bird!
BloodThing
Science or Burst?
Trying out a new format featuring both locations at once, let me know if you like it please! The Fantastic Four managed to save the world with the results of a failed mission! So don’t be afraid of missing here and there, just learn from it. Why am I giving a motivational speech? I’m sure you’re all doing great! But I wanna know your thoughts and opinions on the new season and the locations. If you’d be so kind, please share them with me!
