Marvel Snap 2025 Wishlist

New year, new me and new Marvel Snap, or so I hope. If you follow along with the community, it seems that some of the goodwill of the player base has been drained these past few months by Second Dinner not listening to their creators or even their playerbase. But I truly believe that they are turning a new leaf and are now ready to make big changes. December's season was amazing with a whopping 14 days of login rewards that even included an Elsa Bloodstone variant, a series 5 card.

On the first day of Christmas, Second Dinner sent to me…

Also, the triumphant return of High Voltage was seen as a huge success due to its casual, frustrationless gameplay and its generous reward. Come back to me my love, I miss you so much

But enough reminiscing about the past. Let’s look forward and see what are the things that Second Dinner needs to do to make the gamer better, faster and stronger than ever before. That’s right, we are going to do a–

Marvel Snap’s Wishlist for 2025

We all know that the gameplay featured in Marvel Snap is quite fantastic, it's just that things around that gameplay have been less than ideal for a while now. So let's give the team a few pointers on how to make Marvel Snap the best game it can be.

Card Acquisition

IMG_1994

This is an obvious one and the most critical change they need to implement.

Brief history: Since the introduction of Spotlight Caches, players have grown increasingly anxious about Series Drops—the once-exciting event where cards would become more accessible by dropping to lower series. Unfortunately, these drops have been disappointing to say the least, with only the least impactful cards becoming more accessible, while old titans, like Jeff, have remained stuck in Series 5 for nearly two years.

Many have argued that this business model is unsustainable, and it seems Second Dinner is finally acknowledging it. They’ve announced plans to overhaul the card acquisition system. I believe they’ve learned a lot from previous iterations, and I’m optimistic they’ll make meaningful improvements. While I don’t know exactly how they’ll approach it, their recent changes have earned my trust.

More Exciting Seasons

I've been playing this game for quite a while, and honestly, I can barely tell when one season ends, and another begins—they all feel the same. The repetitive formula doesn't help either in bringing excitement everytime a new season comes around.

What we really need are events! Events that tap into the rich lore of the Marvel Universe. Imagine being able to test out the new cards in temporary game modes with an engaging storyline that delves into the characters and their universe. It would be an amazing way for players to try out new cards while building hype for the game.

If the devs wanted to go all in, they could even introduce a single-player story mode. Players could take on unique challenges using their collections. I believe it would be a great addition to the game and it would make seasons a lot more exciting.

Draft Mode

As someone who's been around the block with online card games—whether it's Hearthstone, Legends of Runeterra, or others—there’s one feature I’ve always loved: Draft mode. Building a deck on the spot from random cards and then facing opponents in the same boat as you is amazing. It forces you to think creatively, adapt on the fly, and use cards outside of the usual meta just to stay in the game.

Draft mode would also be a fantastic equalizer. Players with smaller collections can finally compete on a level playing field against veterans, since everyone would be working with the same random pool of cards. I want Draft mode so much and I hope that they can find it in their heart to make it for us.

Variant Shop Upgrades

It's a long running joke that the Variant Shop is abysmally awful. We have more than 2 thousand possible variants to appear in the shop and every 24 hours we can only be offered 8 of those, that would be awful enough but we also have another issue. Ever since the devs introduced Albums into Snap, the variants that compose the albums have had an extremely strong pull towards appearing in the shop. Meaning that every day, the limited slots in the shop will be occupied with the same variants appearing over and over again because they are part of an album that you don’t have any interest in. Hopefully they fully revamp this feature and we can finally acquire the variants that we like.

Achievements

We’re all aware that Character Mastery is in the works and we have all the info on it right here, written beautifully by my friend ScoSco, if you’re interested, click here.

My suggestion is a bit different: Achievements. They could provide a fun and easy way to motivate players to experiment with new strategies and to invest in some more long term goals in the game.

For example, you could have an achievement for destroying an enormous number of cards, with a unique Death variant, and a title as rewards for your efforts. Or one for scoring over 1,000 points at every location in a bunch of games, which could unlock a stylish variant for The Living Tribunal. There could even be some outrageously obnoxious achievements—like winning 15 games in a row—for a special Domino variant. I’m sure plenty of dedicated players would enjoy the hunt and lose their minds in the process. Achievements like these would add an extra layer of excitement for completionists and even casual players.

Do you think this would be a bit much?

Conclusion

There is always much to improve and it's difficult to find the time and resources for it and know how difficult game development can be. So I wouldn’t blame Second Dinner if they aren’t capable of doing every change needed in time. I decided to list only 5 but there are more things they could do like small quality of life changes and perhaps some overhaul for some things that didn’t quite live up to the hype like for example Alliances which are in dire need of some changes to make it more social.

Hope you liked the read, I appreciate you being here!

But what about your opinions? Do you disagree with me? Do you have a list of your own you want to share? Let me know in the comments!
