Marvel Snap Future Seasons Predictions

It's been a while since we've looked into our Crystal ball (or just datamines) to try to predict what the future of Marvel Snap holds. After both last month and yesterdays’ patches, we now know about the New X-Men (May) and Masters of the Arcane (June) seasons but what about this summer and beyond?

We're going to put all the clues together to give you an idea of what future Marvel Snap seasons might have in store. We'll be relying on a variety of evidence including characters already found in the datamines, titles that tease future themes, other Marvel media releases, and a few other little tidbits and breadcrumbs. We left no stone unturned and are happy to bring to you seven potential future Marvel Snap seasons!

FANTASTIC

Likelihood: HIGH

Cards:

H.E.R.B.I.E.
Each turn this is in play, swap to a new Activate ability until one is used.
Human Torch First Steps
End of Turn: +1 Power. Once per game, if your side here is full, double this card’s Power instead.
Invisible Woman First Steps
Activate: This turn, your End of Turn abilities repeat.
Mister Fantastic First Steps
End of Turn: Give a card in your hand -1 Cost or +2 Power.
The Thing First Steps
End of Turn: +2 Power. Once per game, if your side here is full, destroy an enemy card here with less Power.

Titles:

  • Confirmed Not a Mutant
  • Fantasti-Car Insurance Broker
  • Illuminatrix Juggler
  • Not Crazy. Mad
  • Pretzeled My Elastic Arms. Help?
  • Real Androids Wear Briefs
  • Silver Surfboard Waxer
  • Zenn-La Tourism Board

It doesn’t take much to guess that this season is coming soon. This is the only season I’m confident in calling which month it will be released. With the MCU movie Fantastic Four: First Steps releasing in July, a Fantastic season is a slam dunk.

The datamined names have begun to stir a bit of controversy in the community. Looks like we are going to see new versions of the already existing Fantastic Four? What do you think about this? I’m excited for the possibility of finally having a deck with all four working together synergistically.

With Snap Packs letting Second Diner make even more cards per season, I’m betting we can fill the season with more than just repeated characters. Let’s look at the titles and break down what characters they could be referencing.

Warning: Potential spoilers for the upcoming movie

“Confirmed Not a Mutant” is for Franklin Richards, the son of Marvel’s first family. Is he a mutant or not? Comic continuity goes back and forth on this so many times I don’t think even the writers know anymore.

“Zenn-La Tourism Board” is about Zenn-La, the homeworld of the Silver Surfer. Rumoured casting for the movie suggests Shalla-Bal as the wife of Norrin Rad and another Silver Surfer. Two other titles corroborate this, “Illuminatrix Juggler” (the Illuminatrix being an object from Zenn-La) and “Silver Surfboard Waxer.”

Both “Not Crazy. Mad” and “Real Androids Wear Briefs” connect to a Fantastic Four villain the Mad Thinker and his creation Awesome Android. As far as I’m aware they are not rumored for the movie but these titles are too specific to be ignored.

HERALDS OF GALACTUS

Likelihood: MEDIUM

Titles:

  • Golden Horn Tooter
  • Healing from Firelord’s Autograph
  • Tamed at Axe Point
  • Totaled the Way-Opener
  • You Read My Xandarian Worldmind

Even before seeing these titles I liked the idea of this theme. Off the back of a Fantastic Four season, one about the Heralds makes perfect sense to me. We could get a situation like how last September’s The Amazing Spider-Season led into the Symbiote-themed season in October. Or maybe these titles and characters will be folded into a single Fantastic Four season to accommodate the increased card output. Shalla-Bal could conceivably fit into either season.

To answer the question of which characters could this season feature, we have two specific Heralds called out by the titles. “Healing from Firelord’s Autograph” and “Tamed at Axe Point” are references to Pyreus Kril the Firelord and Terrax the Tamer respectively.

After that the titles take a bit of a turn. We move away from Heralds into Xandar, which some of you might recognize as the home of the Nova Corps. What do the Nova Corp have to do with Heralds of Galactus? At first you’d think nothing but I did some digging.

A member of the Novas, Frankie Raye has spent some time as one of the Heralds as well as Gabriel Lan, captain of The Way-Opener. I wouldn’t expect anyone to recognize these names but the ship stood out because of the title “Totaled the Way-Opener.”

HELL LORDS

Likelihood: MEDIUM

Cards:

Mephisto
If you win this game, double your winnings.

Titles:

  • Dreamstalker’s Stable Boy
  • Gotta Stop Dating Succubi
  • Mephisto’s Backup Dancer
  • Minor Antarctic Royalty
  • My Head Is A Fire Hazard
  • Shaved Chest Into A Pentagram
  • Soulless Brute

You may have seen discussion about this season before. We’ve had these titles for a few months now and some of us, including myself, thought this would be the May season and were surprised to see it “passed over” for the New X-Men.

Mephisto has been in the data files since the early days but hasn’t made its way into the game proper yet. This potential season would be the perfect time (with a different ability of course!).

“Shaved Chest Into A Pentagram” would only fit Daimon Hellstrom. A heroic character with family ties to many of the other Hell Lords like Mephisto, he is definitely a shoo-in for this type of season.

“Minor Antarctic Royalty” is for Umar, the twin sister of Dormammu and self proclaimed Queen of Antarctica. Now that we know Dormammu is coming, she starts to make more sense as an inclusion.

Nightmare fans were left wondering when his trusty steed Dreamstalker would arrive. “Dreamstalker’s Stable Boy” is a rare clear reference to a named character. No mistaking or misinterpreting this one, looks like we’ll be seeing the black horse soon!

ORCHIS

Likelihood: MEDIUM

Titles:

  • Clinical Cyberpath
  • Danger Roommate
  • Detects Mutants By Hand
  • Dress Code Bastion Casual
  • Emotional Core Disengaged
  • Living Fire Hazard
  • Master Mold Mutt

The latest in datamined titles all seem to be related to both the Sentinels and the anti-mutant organization Orchis. Part of the Fall of X storyline, Orchis was made to “fight back” against mutants by humanity.

“Living Fire Hazard” could be related to Karima Shapandar, Omega Sentinel, the person turned machine armed with state-of-the-art mutant exterminating technology.

“Dress Code Bastion Casual” calls out Bastion by name. Bastion is another advancement in Master Mold technology, being a fusion between Nimrod and Master Mold.

When I see the title “Master Mold Mutt” I’m focusing on the mutt part. Orchis created mutant hunters called Hounds which were infected mutants to fight against other mutants. One of those was Feral.

In building this season of human technology against mutants, you start to wonder about mutant technology. One of the most iconic feats of mutant tech is the Danger Room, the X-Men’s training room. “Danger Roommate” could be a reference to the sentient living room itself, Danger.

We have a lot of variants from the Krakoa era of X-Men but we haven’t had a dedicated Krakoa season yet. Looks like we won’t get the chance.

ULTIMATES

Likelihood: LOW

No in-game evidence as of yet

This is less of a prediction and more of a wild mad guess. The current comic run of The Ultimates is centred around a monthly countdown. We’re going to reach the end in the month of December.

The Maker and Kang the Conqueror have been locked away and are set to return at the end of the calendar year, leaving Iron Lad and the rest of the Ultimates only a few remaining months to figure out how to defeat both enemies and save the universe.

An Ultimates season would give Marvel Snap the opportunity to introduce long-time villain The Maker along with new favourites Ultimate Spider-man and Ultimate Doctor Doom!

SPIDER-VERSE

Likelihood: LOW

No in-game evidence as of yet

Another guess with nothing in game datamined, but we have some new hope.

We finally got a release date for the third installment of the Spide-Verse movies. While 2027 sounds like a made up year in the far future, perhaps Second Diner rides the wave of excitement from the announcement and gets to work on a Spiderverse season soon.

Shoo-ins for a potential Beyond the Spider-Verse season include Spider-Punk and the Prowler. I would be surprised if Second Dinner didn't already have concepts and abilities for Spider-Punk already on the drawing board. This season feels like a ‘when’ rather than an ‘if.’

MYSTIC MAYHEM

Likelihood: LOW

No in-game evidence as of yet

Currently in beta is the new mobile game Marvel Mystic Mayhem, a game that pits Nightmare and his forces against Doctor Strange and other popular heroes with help from the mystic arts. Normally a new Marvel game wouldn’t get me thinking about a season crossover, but here’s the kicker; it's a new NetEase game. What was the last NetEase game made using Marvel characters? Just a little game called Marvel Rivals! NetEase is also the publisher of Marvel Snap in China. The problem with anticipating any kind of crossover with Mystic Mayhem is that so many of the characters and themes are already set to come in June’s Master's of the Arcane season, so there isn't much left that could be incorporated into a crossover with this game.

We don’t have any information on when this game is getting a global launch but if it's anything like with the Marvel Rivals season, it could be soon.

Final Thoughts

Usually when I make season predictions it’s for 1 or 2 seasons. Finding potential evidence for this many seasons is absolutely unreal to me. The future of Marvel Snap has a lot of exciting content coming this year. Let us know in the comments which seasons you'd like to see in 2025 and beyond!
