ScoSco

Hello, my name is Scott, and I'm a former editor and English teacher who is now a stay-at-home Dad. I've been playing TCGs forever, from MTG to Pokemon TCG. Having been a comic book junkie my whole life, I think Snap is the perfect marriage of the two for me, and I've been playing Snap since its global launch. I like to theory craft and deck build and prefer slightly off-meta, competitively viable decks.

What's a Marvel character you want to see that's not yet in the game?

Kate Bishop, for sure.

Who is your favorite artist in the game, and what is your favorite variant from that artist?

Peach Momoko, Invisible Woman.

What is your favorite guilty pleasure card?

I play Captain Marvel way too much.

What is your favorite location that might be an unpopular opinion?

Tarnax IV

After you play a character here, transform it into another one of the same Cost.

What card do you think matches the flavor of the character best?

Rogue

Rogue
On Reveal: Steal the text from an enemy Ongoing card here.

What is your favorite Marvel movie?

Guardians of the Galaxy

JimmyDickins

Hello! JimmyDickins here. I’ve been playing Marvel Snap since its launch and have adored the game since downloading it. Outside the game, I am an attorney, husband, and father of a nine-month-old, so my time is pulled in infinite directions, but I always try to find time to snap and contribute in some way to the community.

What's a Marvel character you want to see that's not yet in the game?

The Mandarin would be a great addition, being Iron Man’s arch-nemesis.

Who is your favorite artist in the game, and what is your favorite variant from that artist?

I am a sucker for baby variants from Skottie Young. My favorite was the little hairy gremlin Wolverine, but the Legion in the Spotlight Caches was a must-have for me and is now my favorite.

What is your favorite guilty pleasure card?

The Sentry. Even before Annihilus was datamined, I loved playing this card. With Annihilus, he’s excellent and meta-relevant, but before, there was nothing more satisfying than using Viper to send the Void. To date, he has my favorite variant in the game (the one with his hand extended).

What is your favorite location that might be an unpopular opinion?

Mindscape is a very skill-testing and fun location. It makes you plan and make tactical decisions and concessions about what cards you can allow your opponent to have from your hand and which you must play. It’s very well-designed and allows for some big-brain play.

At the start of turn 6, swap hands.

What card do you think matches that flavor of the character best?

I was always impressed with Mysterio’s design. The card's flavor matches the character very well with the illusions and their subterfuge.

Mysterio
On Reveal: Add an Illusion to another location. Activate: Swap Power with it.

What is your favorite Marvel movie?

Avengers: Infinity War. I don’t think another Marvel movie can top that in terms of quality and breadth of coverage. Endgame was probably my best theater experience, but it doesn’t hold up on repeat viewings. Infinity War gets even better on every viewing.

JFsnap

JFsnap, or JF, while loving all things Marvel Snap, is a teacher day-to-day and loves breaking down different card game strategies to help others get better or improve.

What's a Marvel character you want to see that's not yet in the game?

I wish they would make cards for supporting characters like Aunt May or Uncle Ben or something like the Alter Ego of a character. Like Tony Stark, he adds the arc reactor to your hand, and you gain +3 energy when that is played. That’s probably overpowered, but that would be interesting.

Who is your favorite artist in the game, and what is your favorite variant from that artist?

Fiona Hsieh - Bast

What is your favorite guilty pleasure card?

Elektra. She has fantastic variants and is never expected, so sniping a pivotal 1 drop is always hilarious. I know she isn’t amazing, but it’s always funny getting that nebula or sunspot or sometimes power stone unexpectedly.

Elektra
On Reveal: Destroy an enemy 1-Cost card here.

What is your favorite location that might be an unpopular opinion?

I like The Great Web. It provides a way to think about the game differently, and I like chaos, so sometimes I smack Legion on that location and watch the madness.

End of Turn: Move one card to the Web for a random player.

What card do you think matches that flavor of the character best?

Storm has fantastic ability, which is mixed with who she is as a character. Also, the destroy cards that regenerate but are stronger have a good flavor match.

Storm
On Reveal: Flood this location. Next turn is the last turn cards can be played here.

What is your favorite Marvel movie?

I like the Hulk movie with Edward Norton, which is less commonly associated with Phase 1 but was supposed to be the starting point for Hulk.

TerminalVertex

I've always enjoyed card games. From paper Magic: The Gathering to Hearthstone, and now Marvel Snap. I love the collection aspect of card games and crafting decks. Having hit Infinite every season since I started playing, I want to share advice and help others make the most of their in-game resources.

What's a Marvel character you want to see that's not yet in the game?

More symbiotes! Anti-Venom?

Who is your favorite artist in the game, and what is your favorite variant from that artist?

Peach Momoko. It's hard to choose, but X-23 has Princess Mononoke vibes.

What is your favorite guilty pleasure card?

Galactus... with Alioth. Yes, I'm one of those people.

Galactus
On Reveal: If you're winning this location and this is your only card here, destroy all other locations.
Alioth
On Reveal: Remove the text from all unrevealed enemy characters here.

What is your favorite location that might be an unpopular opinion?

Weirdworld. I like taking my opponent's best cards and using them against them.

Draw 2 cards from your opponent's deck.

What card do you think matches that flavor of the character best?

Many cards have done well to match. Gambit is pretty cool. It's throwing a card to destroy something!

Gambit
On Reveal: Discard a card from your hand to destroy a random enemy card.

What is your favorite Marvel movie?

Thor: Love and Thunder. It has a great soundtrack and so many silly moments.

Cultpapa

My name is Stewie, otherwise known as “cult_papa” online. I live in the greater Boston area and am a father of 2 young kids. I started playing Marvel Snap during the global launch and haven’t put it down since. Before that, I was an avid Hearthstone player since the beta days.

What's a Marvel character you want to see that's not yet in the game?

Penance! I’d settle for Speedball, but while in his Penance era, he had such a cool costume to accompany his dark, emotional character arc. He has interesting powers that could be translated into some fun mechanics in the game.

clean

Who is your favorite artist in the game, and what is your favorite variant from that artist?

Flaviano, for sure, especially his Galactus variant.

What is your favorite guilty pleasure card?

I don’t get to play her much, but Lady Deathstrike is so fun when your opponent isn’t expecting it.

Lady Deathstrike
On Reveal: Destroy each card here with 3 or less Power.

What is your favorite location that might be an unpopular opinion?

Asteroid M – The amount of misplays from my opponents (and me, let’s be honest) because they forget that it will move their 3 and 4 cost cards is always a riot.

What card do you think matches that flavor of the character best?

Agatha, what a perfect meme card that also thematically works so great. It is perfect to have her take control of your plays and then play herself on Turn 6 as a little “It was Agatha all along!” reference.

Agatha Harkness
Game Start: Draw Agatha. She controls your cards on even turns.

What is your favorite Marvel movie?

Non-MCU? The 2003 Hulk movie with Eric Bana. It’s likely nostalgia speaking, but there is something about this movie I always come back to. They changed a lot about the characters and their origins, but I love it all the same.

MCU favorite movie is Spider-Man: No Way Home; I just love some Spider-Man, and it's even better when I get 3!

Quiksilvur aka Jdbui

Hi! I'm Quiksilvur; I'm a big nerd for card games and an even bigger nerd for Marvel, and I'm excited to channel some of that obsession into some sort of productivity for a change. I love comics, and I especially love talking about comic book art. I've got loads of opinions that I plan to disseminate amongst the Snap.Fan community as I gain influence. Long-term? I'm hoping for a cult.

What's a Marvel character you want to see that's not yet in the game?

Too many! But I've always thought more street-level villains like Hammerhead would be exciting.

Who is your favorite artist in the game, and what is your favorite variant from that artist?

He doesn't have many variants in the game yet, but Mike Del Mundo always comes to mind as somebody I'd love to see more of. He's got the terrific Magik variant in the game, a Beta Ray Bill spotlight variant, and plenty more covers that I hope hit the game sometime.

On Reveal: Replace this location with 'Limbo'. Doesn't work after turn 5.
On Reveal: Shuffle Stormbreaker into your deck.

(I'm also a massive Dan Hipp fan; his colors are phenomenal, and I'm cheating in a second answer because Dan Hipp fans just have to let you know at every turn. Giganto's my favorite. Or any of them, really.)

What is your favorite guilty pleasure card?

At this point, it's a less successful version of more recent takes on an archetype, but Hazmat was my first favorite build-around archetype. My favorite early on was weaponizing a one-time afflict into a board-wide cloud of negative power via Wong and Odin!

Hazmat
On Reveal: Afflict all other cards with -1 Power.
Wong
Ongoing: Your On Reveal abilities here repeat.
Odin
On Reveal: Repeat the On Reveal abilities of your other cards here.

What is your favorite location that might be an unpopular opinion?

It’s a weird answer, but I enjoyed the flavor of old Milano before it got removed. The swashbuckling flavor of having to catch a spaceship as it takes off on turn 5 was so fun!

Add a member of the Guardians crew to your hand.

What card do you think matches that flavor of the character best?

Wow, tough one; there are so many good options! It might be especially controversial right now, but I think Professor X is a flavor home run— not only does the effect and terrific sound design capture his famous psychic freeze trick, but the guessing gameplay behind the lockdown forces the player to be a bit of a mind reader themselves, at the moment.

Professor X
Ongoing: Moving is the only way to add or remove a character from here.

What is your favorite Marvel movie?

Into The Spider-Verse, hands down.

Dualgloves

What's a Marvel character you want to see that's not yet in the game?

The Captain America: Civil War movie made me a huge fan of Baron Zemo. I really can't wait for him to be a card. He is very good at sabotaging your opponent's plan.

Who is your favorite artist in the game, and what is your favorite variant from that artist?

It's really hard to choose just one! Since you have a gun pointed at me and forcing me to choose, I'll go with Artgerm. Everything he makes is beautiful, but The She-Hulk is his best. She is popping in that variant.

What is your favorite guilty pleasure card?

I'll go with White Queen. She hasn't been helpful since we all know what each other is playing. But I still love her, and I always try throwing her in some decks when I'm not in full competitive mode.

White Queen
On Reveal: Copy the card that costs the most from your opponent's hand into your hand.

What is your favorite location that might be an unpopular opinion?

I love Mindscape! It's an awful location, but you usually have time to plan how to give your opponent the worst possible hand for his turn 6.

At the start of turn 6, swap hands.

What card do you think matches that flavor of the character best?

Mysterio, for sure! You never know exactly where he is with all the illusions and holograms. He is not powerful, so he always tries to catch you by surprise.

Mysterio
On Reveal: Add an Illusion to another location. Activate: Swap Power with it.

What is your favorite Marvel movie?

Guardians of the Galaxy, the OG. I went to the theater without knowing anything about them and left, being a massive fan of the team. Rocket is my favorite, for sure.
