Let's take a look at Silk...
Note: Some of the above variants are datamined at the time of article release and are subject to SD's backend release decisions.
Silk is a 2/5 with an Static effect of "After ANY card is played here, this moves to another location."
I think there are two ways to capitalize on her strengths. But remember, she will move if either player plays into that location.
- Ignore her… I mean, she is a 2/5 afterall. That's top end in 2-cost card stats. That means Zero + Silk = 8 power by turn 2, similar to the Titania stat line. Oh, plus the benefit of moving right and left if needed.
- HAVE SOME FUN! Embrace her chaoticness and make her move! Who knows what could happen from that...
Let's showcase Silk as a power play...
- So wait, you're telling me that I could give Silk the +4 Hulkbuster power, then have her immediately leave her spot...leaving it open for a followup card like Orka or Galactus? Go on...
- As forementioned, shes a top-of-class stat line, so having her used for just that by having Zero remove her ability is a great power play.
- What's as good as a Doom-bot, but doesn't cost 6-power to play into a Storm-ed lane? Silk. That's what.
Now, let's showcase her in a Move archetype...
- Kraven feels like a natural synergy for Silk as she can move in and out of the lane repeatedly. Ramping a Kraven is always a great secondary win condition for any move deck.
- Any extra slots that can be opened in an Angela lane are always wonderful features in a Move archetype. Angela has grown to be incredibly prominent and successful as of recent with all these new move cards for this reason.
- Kitty Pryde is the ultimate pinball paddle for Silk. Have a specific place you need her to lan? Jjust bounce a Kitty in and out of the lane and voila!
Day One Deck Idea
Kraven Da Movement - DefaultDan
Silk is one of those cards that can potentially steal you a win by sneaking into one of those unplayable locations but without that I think there is some fun that can be had by embracing the move.
Kraven: He wants cards to move to him and even though this isn’t guaranteed we should be able to get 1-2 movements to him with Silk. We are in a movement deck so let’s also put Iron Fist and Ghost-Spider in there to help trigger him.
Angela: Well, I want to be able to move Silk in and I feel like it could be fun playing an Angela and every time Silk gets into this space I can play something into it to push Silk out and get some extra power on the space.
Kitty Pryde: Kitty will allow time to move silk when I need to and pick her up. That way if she gets trapped somewhere I don’t want her and the opponent won’t play into there I can use her to give the move without getting locked in.
Beast: so this deck has a bunch of small drops so we may want to pick it up and reset so beast is there to do the trick. Getting additional (and cheaper) Iron Fist and Ghost-Spiders will be nice on turn 5-6.
Your Power cards: Human Torch, Dagger and Vulture is we’re your blowout will happen as they are moved and bounced all over the board.
Just keep in mind your spacing and location spots as this happens because there will be a lot going on including a Silk flying around the board constantly
Bast: Bast is probably more of a flex spot. He is great on turn 1 to pump a Kitty , Human Torch or Angela but outside of that he can just get you that 1 or 2 extra power you may need in the end, just don’t hit your Silk.
America Chavez: To help the curve. This will allow you to always be doing something without drawing 1 if your cards which is always nice.
