Back after the success of last season is SNAPCHECK! Snapcheck started as an idea to gather takes and ratings from the community. We hear from various content creators and what they think about new cards, but what about what everyone else thinks?
The number of responses this time has doubled! For this iteration, I settled on 10 responses for each card to give you an idea of what people are saying, but took all roughly 40 ratings for each card to create the average score. Let's take a look at what YOU think of the Weapon X season's new cards.
WEAPON X - Average Score: 4/10
- 6/10 - It's good, but I think it's not resilient enough to build a deck around.
- 3/10 - Before launch, I thought this was gonna be a 1 but we've seen it be OK but not great. I think it'll be the first card cut from every deck that has it.
- 6/10 - looks cool but conditions can be a problem, need to be played early in game
- 4/10 - I think he’s gonna be a bit clunky. I don’t see him making the cut in standard destroy. Morgan is probably the only viable home but even then he’s just sitting there waiting to be hit with Shadow King.
- 2/10 - The fact that it doesn’t regenerate when destroyed is quite detrimental because destroy doesn’t really want to be playing 2 costs that don’t destroy or want to be destroyed.
- 4/10 - I'm a bit Destroy biased, I like to blow stuff up. Another scaler for Destroy was not in my bingo cards in 2025. I think Weapon X if he was ongoing would be better. Draw this late and it’s gonna be a dead card I think. I think he will have an interesting home with Morgan and bring back Deathbird.
- 3/10 - not only does this have to be on the board before you start destroying, but you have to be destroying multiple things as many times as you can. Deadpool Destroy doesn’t have the time to play this. The only reason I’m not rating it lower is because it could be a piece in Morgan LeFay decks but I’m not sold on that
- 2/10 - Extremely vulnerable to tech, has to sit on the board the whole game and I don’t think the power it offers is enough to justify the large deckbuilding cost. Too obvious, easy to deal with and not enough power.
- 5/10 - Seems like a really good scaler for destroy but will require specific setups to maximize the potential
- 5/10 - too slow and to vulnerable to tech, needs a good draw to pop off, destroy has better gameplans
ADAMANTIUM INFUSION - Average Score: 7.6/10
- 8/10 - A key card in revival decks or Nimrod, even Ramp-Galactus.
- 7/10 - Really good but really open face gameplay, terrible for laddering. Everyone will retreat before you use it and it'll be obvious you're trying to do so.
- 7/10 - Solid performer in a too-face-up combo deck
- 7/10 - because it is a potential meta staple making it a massive Turn 6 finisher.
- 7/10 - Solid card with FireHair
- 8/10 - any card that has the ability to double its power if a very powerful effect
- 8/10 - this card is nuts especially when combined with the fastball. 2+4 on turn 6 is lethal. I can see some shenanigans with doubling power like with Manspider or just even basic nimrod
- 6/10 - If you apply the context of the other skill and not being in a Shadow King meta I can definitely see this being higher, I don't see this being as absurd as some other combo cards/decks.
- 9/10 - targeted revive and double power allows so much flexibility compared to Phoenix fire. Can also pair with carnage on 6 to leverage synergies with firehair meaning cards like zombie giant man love this
- 6/10 - looks like a powerful lane-winner, but has some awkward curve issues at 4cost, and feels like it will need both good setup and a cheap payoff card to win multiple lanes. not sure if it's better than elixir
CHAMBER - Average Score: 5.6/10
- 9/10 - Is this even better than Goliath?
- 5/10 - Pushes bad SHIELD and bad DD decks into a halfway decent position but that's all. Still better than expected though.
- 5/10 - works really well in very few decks (like Fallen One) but out of there it doesn't seem like a big deal.
- 8/10 - Good card limited mostly by the decks it goes in.
- 9/10 - God, this will be SO good in War Machine decks and Big Dumb Idiots, two archetypes I love dearly.
- 5/10 - Chamber provides support for Valkyrie and Professor X as well as a possible Superior Spiderman enabler. Prof X gets more support with next month's season pass.
- 4/10 this just feels bad. The decks that want to run a ton of 5s and 6s (Arishem being the exception), want to run 2s to support their other strategies (Eson). This being a 2/9 is decent, but I don’t think it will work seeing as it’s a worse turn 2 play than all of those other ones. Also you can only play this on 2
- 6/10 - seems decent in thanos but other ramp strategies aren't exactly looking for a 2 cost stat stick
- 5/10 - I think it’s going to be harder to exploit this than people are thinking. I am willing to take an L here if this ends up being better
- 5/10 - big boy decks weren’t really looking for a 2 cost stat stick but it’s not the worst thing to do be doing
WADE WILSON - Average Score: 1.9/10
- 2/10 - Bad card because it can be pulled from your hand. If it were only a deck thinner, I'd give it 6.
- 4/10 - The payoff is probably too small, but there's probably a combo here to be found eventually.
- 2/10 - A++ flavor, probably not worth it.
- 1/10 - this card should be "When Destroyed: Replace this with Deadpool with +1 Power"
- 1/10 - cool design for the character but in game i dont see it working
- 1/10 - Effect is not bad, but exactly no decks want it. Deadpool destroy uses too many 1s.
- 8/10 - this will be another awesome new card for destroy to have, looking forward to this
- 2/10 - this has a cute trick with letting you destroy Deadpool twice in a turn but that’s at the cost of removing all other 1s from destroy. I don’t see this guy making the cut
- 1/10 - Deck thinning is really not that important for destroy, not to mention it very likely will just not do that and either way is a very mediocre effect.
- 1/10 - Another misfit card. 13th or 14th card in destroy lists.
WEAPON H - Average Score: 6.2/10
- 3/10 - Isn't this just worse than all the other big Discard targets?
- 10/10 - As an OG discarder, I will make this gold so fast in my collection.
- 5/10 - Don't know if Discard has room for this
- 7/10 - It’s strong, just not necessary. Discard is a really solid deck with tons of tools.
- 5/10 - Potentially better than Khonshu as an alternative to Apocalypse, but lacks any scaling or surprises.
- 6/10 - I might be under shooting this one a bit for now. Not really sure which version of discard this will fit best in. Feels like its own type of archetype in the future with some other pieces.
- 4/10 - seems hard to justify running discard cards for this pay off when established discard decks are already a tight 12 and probably not meaningfully improved by this card
- 6/10 - great card for classic Discard, probably replaces Khonshu to go back to basics. Problem is that deck is outclassed these days by other synergies
- 6/10 - I think people will end up being a bit disappointed with this card. Not that it will be bad, but if you compare discarding this to discarding apoc or scorn an extra time, it's not like it's significantly better or anything.
- 7/10 - It’s good, I won’t deny that. I doubt it’s got many homes though. Discard wants to be doing other stuff (Khonshu), but it doesn't work with hela. Just feels like a strong card with no real home
MAVERICK - Average Score: 8.3/10
- 8/10 - works in both handbuff and surfer, the problem it's again shadow king
- 6/10 - because it is a combo-dependent card that can greatly buff the next card you play, but will 9/10 - Really strong effect. Curious to see where it goes at the end.
- 10/10 - INSTANT Surfer card! I really like Maverick!
- 9/10 - Maverick goes in activate Surfer, Nimrod, Galactus, even Zombie Galactii and more.
- 9/10 - This card will finally make Zombie Galacti worth it. So me buying Galacti will be an investment rather than a waste. (not coping at all)
- 9/10 - probably the second best card in the season and pairs well with so many decks. Forge on steroids
- 9/10 - Gonna be some dumb Jocasta combo with this card.
- 10/10 - Synergizes with so many existing cards and archetypes, and may even enable a few more. Will get nerfed in 2 months
- 9/10 - player agency is king and this gives a lot more agency to buff decks
WILD CHILD - Average Score: 7.1/10
- 5/10 - A 2/9 that can be dropped on T6 without getting SKed is huge, but the conditions make it useable only where you can get it to that. Those decks don't seem promising.
- 8/10 - Yeah, I don't know why they keep printing Goliaths.
- 8/10 - Can't wait to play discard & destroy!
- 7/10 - DiscardxDestroy could be a really interesting new deck type. Really good payoff for cheap.
- 6/10 - would have to build a new type of deck which has discard and destroy, perhaps something with attuma and black cat
- 6/10 - Goes tall on a condition that is easier than it may sound, but the deckbuilding requirement still might limit the potential.
- 4/10 - Same with Weapon H. Wants to be in a deck that doesn’t exist currently and may not ever exist depending how these cards pan out.
- 9.5/10 - 2/9? sign me up. The gambit Luna snow meta will go crazy.
- 5/10 - how many games are you going to manage to get the plus 8? Seems it will go in a hybrid deck with no synergy to win
FASTBALL SPECIAL - Average Score: 9.2/10
- 10/10 - the combination with adamantium infusion seems broken. It’s a candidate for “Most likely to be nerfed” this month.
- 10/10 - No way this stays at a 2 cost.
- 9/10 - So good with FireHair and Phoenix Force
- 8/10 - Strong destroy synergy, probably will manage to shine even in an archetype with competition.
- 9/10 - Great card, great effective synergies for cards like Nimrod and the Infinaut. When paired with Adamantium, this gets really stupid
- 9/10 - would be a 10 but Luke cage exists and this is the card that will remind people of that. Insane text. We’re gonna see lots of this card
- 9/10 - destroying cards and keeping their power is the best strategies Destroy employs. This does that and sets up a huge one two punch with multiple other cards including Adamantium Infusion.
- 10/10 - This is like a second venom.
- 8/10 - I think this card will be effective enough to actually make Luke meta again.
- 10/10 - 2 cost targeted destroy is the tool that all destroy decks can use while also vastly improving the consistency of revive decks. this will likely be a must include in basically any destroy deck
MARROW - Average Score: 6/10
- 5/10 - Is this just Bucky?
- 7/10 - I think she's better than people give her credit for. I'll jam her a lot and see.
- 4/10 - just a Proxima Midnight that aim randomly
- 7/10 - Practically a second Proxima Midnight, also working with destroy, so potentially more versatile too.
- 9/10 - card looks amazing for a hybrid afflict and destroy
- 5/10 - got some interesting possibilities with cards like elixir to revive it and trigger again, but once again Luke cage stops this from being amazing
- 6/10 - 2/9 and a Morgan card
- 5/10 - nice stat stick for morgan decks, otherwise likely not enough power to bother with. having the power be affliction is also an unfortunate downside
- 7/10 - 2/6 stats is very good Potentially 2/8 / 2/9 with gained power from a carnage or venom
- 4/10 - worst proxima midnight, hard to fuse afflict with discard, destroy has better options
AURORA - Average Score: 8.9/10
- 10/10 - Way, way too much power! I'd rate like 11 or something...
- 7/10 - probably needs a specific deckbuilding but she gives a lot of power
- 6/10 - Really interesting card. The deckbuilding for it is hard as there isn’t really a deck that uses three keywords, much less four. Thanos is likely
- 10/10 - As the world's #1 Alpha Flight fan, I wish they saved her for an Alpha Flight season, but I'm just happy she's here, and her numbers could get BIG.
- 8/10 - I expect her to be good in many decks, and buffing activates is great for things like Lasher.
- 8.5/10 - One of the best cards of the season. New version of Spectrum to cover more abilities. Really excited to play Thanos again.
- 10/10 - Going to be cracked in Thanos but I am a firm believer that even outside of Thanos she can be a strong finisher that distributes power across the board. I’ve been an Aurora merchant so it would be disingenuous to not rank her 10/10
- 9/10 - Easily one of the most exciting cards this season. Been a while since a strong 6 has released with such a cool and wide board state payoff. Will most likely cause new forms of decks to arise or bring back Thanos. Inevitably interesting.
- 8/10 - Potentially really strong, but maybe kind of clunky. It can buff the same card twice, which is potentially relevant for Thanos stones.
- 8/10 - she is going to be a top end staple in midrange/synergy decks that can fill the board
FANTOMEX - Average Score: 5.5/10
- 4/10 - It's an Activate…
- 5/10 - half of the times you won't activate him, otherwise you'll win, so 5 out of 10
- 5/10 - need to see how it gets, idk but affliction is a strong type
- 7/10 - hoping to be good seem like a really good card
- 7/10 - I wish he was an On Reveal. He's essentially a better Noir. Same statline, an easier to meet condition and the potential payoff of a 4 COST 18 POWER CARD. If DiscardxDestroy actually takes off, he'll be the reason why.
- 6/10 - 4 power activate is my only concern but cool ability
- 5/10 - seems like it can be big but will require specific setup for the payoff limiting it's viability
- 3/10 - I just don't think the juice will be worth the squeeze. Trying to visualize the deck this would go into and it's murky at best.
- 7/10 - huge upside hard to build around though and gets killed by a board wide ongoing
- 6/10 - my pick for “card I want to be wrong about” looks like a great ability if you can get it to proc. I’m skeptical about the condition and it being a 4-Cost
