Move out of the way, Peter Parker, there's a new Spider-Man in town and he's coming to supercharge Marvel Snap with extra energy!
When Otto Octavius lay in his deathbed, about to expire, he enacted one final plan of revenge. He was able to use mentally controlled Octobots to swap his consciousness with that of Peter Parker. Peter dies in Otto's body and Otto takes over as the Superior Spider-Man! Determined to prove himself a superior Spider-Man and, indeed, a superior Peter Parker, Otto soon discovers he's bitten off more than he can chew as Parker's consciousness still exists underneath his own and subtly influences Otto away from villainy and towards heroism. Will Superior Spider-Man be a format hero or meta tyrant in Marvel Snap? He's powerful enough that he might get one final villain arc!

Extra Power Enablers
At the end of the turn, you'll get extra energy, but only if you've got a card on board with increased Power. So, how hard will this be to pull off consistently? Ideally we want cards that can reliably achieve this that cost 1 or 2.
Here are all of the 1-Cost cards that can help with this.
Obviously, some of these are going to be more practical than others. Silver Sable needs nothing else, while Vulture would need to be moved, Jim Hammond would require something like Psylocke, and Scorn would need to be discarded. The best candidates are Silver Sable, as mentioned, along with The Hunger and Agony. Cards like Nico, Nebula, and Sunspot may well find their way into Superior Spider-Man decks, but not without more reliable options alongside them for redundancy.
Here are the 2-Cost cards that can help achieve a power boost before the end of turn 3.
Once again, all of these options are not equally helpful with Superior Spider-Man. The Ongoing stuff is especially promising, Angela and Zombie Mr. Fantastic both seem powerful and reliable, and Adam Warlock might be able to find a new niche. In addition to locations, weirder possibilities (like Yellowjacket and Ezekiel Sims), appealing 3-Cost cards like Bishop, Cassandra Nova, Captain Carter, Spider-Punk, and others, building a deck in a way that it can nearly always get the Energy benefit from Superior Spider-Man is going to be quite easy.
Keep in mind how staging and sequencing will work with this card. Superior Spider-Man reads “at the start of each turn,” so as long as there is bonus power on the board by the end of the turn you play your Superior, you'll get the benefit. This means you can use turn 2 to activate abilities like that or H.e.r.b.i.e., get the benefit of locations like Madripoor, and take advantage of End of Turn abilities like Misty Knight.

Similar to how Viv Vision spent most of her developmental life as an End of Turn card that was changed to have an effect at the beginning of the turn instead, Superior Spider-Man also had End-of-Turn text in the initial datamines we found. I believe that much of the misevaluation of Viv stemmed from visions of her End of Turn form dancing through the heads of deck-builders, even if subconsciously. Superior Spider-Man misses out on any extra synergy with First Steps Invisible Woman, though they share quite a few cross-synergies, so I wonder how much his previous text influenced early play testers.
Scosco's Day One Superior Spider-Man Decks

SSM Ongo
Simply drawing Goliath, since you'll already have a shield on board, will be enough to get mileage out of your Superior Spider-Man. SSM allows this deck, which is already positioned well in the meta, to be greedier. We will now have occasional games where we can end with Onslaught into Spectrum or Moonstone plus a 3-Cost Ongoing together. I like the low curve here and the tricks and power that Invisible Woman provides, but you could shift this to a build that includes Iron Man. Mercury is a meta consideration and she's a bit expensive at 3-Cost. If you don't need to worry about Move as much, you can put a 2-Cost Ongoing in her place.
SSM Semi-Bounce
This is a relatively honest mid-range deck that tosses in a cheeky Falcon to get extra use out of our early 1-Cost cards in some games and packs Juggernaut and Cosmic Ghost Rider to try to keep up with this combo-heavy meta. You could also put Spider-Punk in the Rocket & Groot spot if you're planning to get him.
SSM Zombies
In this Zombie Scarlet Witch-centered deck, SSM allows us to have some games where we can hold our Giant Man for the last turn and play a 2-Cost card alongside him… like Mockingbird!
SSM High Evo
There's a chance that SSM will allow us to construct High Evo in a different way. Instead of playing Magik, who is so susceptible to Omniversal Presence, and Infinaut, this deck plays with more immediacy and can have turn 6s that involve a couple of free She-Hulks and a Hulk. While 32+ power on turn 6 won't always coalesce, this deck puts out enough power that it can win its less ideal games as well.
SSM EoT
Can Start of Turn play nice with End of Turn? Superior Spider-Man was initially datamined as an End of Turn card, and while he no longer is, he still retains quite a bit of synergy with several of the cards already in this deck. First Steps Thing has fallen out of most end of turn decks, but the single extra energy on the last turn makes playing out First Steps Thing a lot easier since you can play him with a 2-Cost and still get your Thena buff, while Squirrel Girl makes it more likely you'll have a full lane to plant him in for full effect. The extra power also means we can pop out a surprise Omega Sentinel on our Jocasta lane on the last turn alongside a 3-Cost card.
SSM Ramp
Ramp doesn't need early game scalers like Nebula and Adam Warlock, but being able to drop Electro and fit them in can put your opponent into difficult decisions about where to play their cards after they've been increased in cost by Sandman. Superior Spider-Man won't be valuable in every game, but the upside is worth it when we have two other rampers in Wave and Luna (use your CGR to disable your opponent's Ice Cube).
SSM Clea
SSM Jim Wiccan
Pet card time! Two of my favorite cards that I play a lot of each season are Jim Hammond and Clea. While neither can be considered S-Tier cards, I do think both are pretty underrated. Both have excellent cross-synergies with Superior Spider-Man and I've already clocked a lot of hours with both of these shells and they can definitely climb with proper snapping and retreating.
Variant Gallery
Superior Spider-Man isn't launching with quite as many datamined variants as some recent cards, but it's made up for by the fact that each of these is unique and has a bold style.
Final Thoughts

Superior Spider-Man is the best new ramp card we've had in a while. He's going to find an immediate role and may push Luna Snow out of certain builds while enabling some new builds of his own that focus on added power. He's flexible in the sense that you could add him to a deck with a couple of enablers or you could surround him with tons of support and ensure you get value every game.
The one concern about Superior Spider-Man is that, like Viv Vision, he had his text changed from End of Turn to start of turn quite late in the developmental process. That's a sizable nerf and it proved fatal for Viv, but SSM is strong enough to overcome it. Extra energy is very powerful in this game and his requirement of having power-boosted cards is a quest that provides its own benefits. Otto is one of the better cards coming in a month loaded with intriguing new cards. Adding Superior Spider-Man to your collection will make it superior.
