A new OTA just dropped for the game, but wait, I thought SD said no OTA this week? Well this one has no changes for the current meta game but it does contain some buffs for most of the new cards for next season! The power buff isnt large(only 1) but SD has said before 1 power matters more than you think. What do you think of these buffs, are these cards worth picking up next month?
Baron Zemo
The + 1 power buff gives Zemo good stats with an intriguing ability. Will this push this thief/mill archetype to the top? I have my doubts but definitely a plus for Zemo prior to his release.
Red Hulk
Potentially the best card of the Zero to Hero season got better. Essentially this is the reverse of evolved Hulk that only needs one turn of unspent energy from your opponent for Red Hulk to become a 6-Cost with 15-Power (if in hand or on the board). This card might get out of hand with this power buff, if it wasn‘t already.
US Agent
A power buff isn’t going to save this card. US Agent’s ability just feels clunky. You would think you want to pair it with Man Thing but they afflict each other without Luke Cage. That’s three cards you need to rely on, draw wise, to somewhat build a comprehensive play line. This card could have used probably another power or 2 but we will see what the future holds for US Agent. Maybe there is an affliction deck that makes use of the smaller cost afflict cards that can fit in the Goblins but we will see.
Valentina
This card has the potential of being the best card during the Zero to Hero season. There are probably only a handful of 6-Cost cards you don’t want to receive with -3 power. The challenge with Valentina will be incorporating the 6-Cost into your game plan or if it’s just a dead card in your hand. At least the power you are putting on the board is a little more significant with this buff to Valentina.
Oh and one other minor thing I saw in this patch, there is an updated localization(in chinese) for firestar! So hopefully this means well be seeing her return before too long.
