For those that play magic, the acronym FNM may be one you are familiar with - Friday Night Magic. Harnessing immense amounts of creativity, we are now announcing WNS. I'm sure you can figure out what it stands for!
Night here is referencing NA night - 8:30pm EST (5:30pm PST). Please convert this to your own time zone to see if it works for you. Prize support should be global, but the time is locked in as listed. This is the checkin time - the first round should begin at 9pm EST.
These will not be hyper competitive tournaments - the idea is to have a somewhat casual and fun tournment - try out a deck if you want. Each will be 4 rounds with a 40-minute limit per round, so a 2.5-3 hour total duration. A tied match is basically equivalent to a double loss in this format (prizes will just be based on number of wins).
The prize pool is currently set at $100 USD. This can scale upwards for future WNS if we have the turnout to support it. The payout will be relatively flat and will be based on number of people that show up and their W-L records. Ideally, we'd like to have payouts go to anyone with a 4-0 or 3-1 record. However, if a ton of people show up and we're limited to the $100 pool...we may need to adjust that on the fly.
There is no entry fee. There is no card restriction on deck building. Decks will be submitted and locked for the tournament (but open - meaning they should be visible on the tournament website). There will be a giveaway of one season pass for the most "fun" deck submitted. The tournament will also be streamed at https://www.twitch.tv/snapdotfan
