**"DoubleDunk" ** gets its inspiration from Miles Morales' Dunking Variant. Believe it or not, Basketball is my favorite hobby, and I can't resist this Variant.
So setting out I wanted to use Miles but didn't believe he would do much for traditional Movement Decks, so wanted to set out and find something else. The moment I thought of Polaris, the deck built itself.
To be fair, there was a discussion in discord that set off these dominos in my brain as well.
Cerebro at the power of 5 is not something I have played with much but after I took a look at some options, I knew these should be able to complete at least as a low-tier meta deck, after all, we are running sera and Magik (tho Magik nerf could still be coming this or next season).
Before getting into the cards we are using and why let's look at the cards I opted NOT to use.
Not in The Deck
Natural "5 Power"
Lizard - "ok" option, but with the ability to get minus 3, with this deck its -7, just to fill the lane. Not worth the risk
Namor - He can increase his strength if isolated. Not worth the cost
Warpath - He can increase his strength if the board state goes weird. Not worth the cost
Spectrum- Perhaps at first glance, you may think she is an "ok" option, but since we run sera, this is a non-starter. It would throw Sera's power too high.
Can gain Power
Wolfsbane - is a good option. easy to reach 5 power. How the 3 cost killed it. it would have to take Mysterio's slot.
Angela - is a good option. easy to reach 5 power. How the 3 cost killed it. it would have to take Mysterio's slot.
Bishop/Sunspot - not worth the headache of calculating the turns and power
HulkBuster +1 power - nothing worth this setup
StarLord - Not a horrible option, but with Sera + Magik, we are filling the board already. so it's okay to be more top-heavy.
