** Edit - Post-Mortem (27th Feb 2023)**
Well I'm a bit late in adding this message but obviously the Zabu nerf back towards the start of Feb killed this deck. Rip Zab-Agatha (2022-2023) you will be missed. My only regret is that I never got to play you. To my fellow Agatha lovers I promise that I will continue to try making a playable deck that plays itself and that next time the cards for such a deck come out, I will have the tokens.
**edit over**
All the Angela decks I see people play seem hell bent on snatching back control from her as soon as possible, like your a child snatching the controller from your sister as soon as mum looks away. So what I've attempted to do is build a deck that will best play to Agatha's strengths as a player only playing the game out ourselves if the stars really align. I've ordered the cards in the deck from what I consider to be best to worst so that if you want to put a different card in the deck it's obvious what I recommend you replace first, so let's get started.
Zabu & Agatha - It's the point of the deck
Chavez - makes us more likely to draw Zabu by turn 3 while having little to no downside since in most games Agatha will be playing herself on turn 6 making our turn 6 draw irrelevant.
Domino - makes us less likely to draw Zabu by turn 3 but provides us 3 power on a turn we would have passed for that price. For that reason Domino is the most contentious card in deck and is a matter of taste.
I'm gonna take a short math break here so skip ahead if your uninterested. We are likely to lose every game we don't draw Zabu for turn 3 so what are our chances of doing that and how have we improved it. The odds of drawing a particular card by turn 3 is 50%, playing either Agatha or Chavez increases that to 54.55% playing both makes it 60%. Adding Domino reduces it to 55.56%. While not drawing Zabu *may* be an automatic loss drawing it is NOT an automatic win. In my opinion 3 extra power in every game is more likely to improve your win rate compared to 4.44% more games were you drew Zabu. Math over back to the cards.
Darkhawk & Rockslide - Darkhawk is 7 power at the end of a normal game and 11 if you played Rockslide. Rockslide while being only 6 power also has the upside of occasionally disrupting your opponents draw. Both are good cards that become great together and notably are very easy for Agatha to play correctly something that can't be said for some of the other cards in our deck.
Shana - Is a generically good 4 Drop (with some RNG) as long as you have the space to play her, which we do. As an upside she also makes it possible for us to play a card into locked locations scoring free wins if our opponent can't.
Jubilee - Making the deck simple enough for Agatha to pilot typically comes with the side effect of making Jubilee a great choice. Our high rolls are Chavez and...
Crossbones - His play restriction actually has a small upside in this deck since it can encourage Agatha to actually play multiple cards into a single location something she is on occasion loathed to do. As a side note if you choose to run the deck without Domino he is quite a bit worse.
Hell Cow & Ghost Rider - Unlike most Agatha decks we don't run a way to reliably gain control from Agatha before the end of the game. This is the best we have and the biggest dice roll in the deck. We could play both on turn 4 in the correct order discard and reanimate Agatha putting 23 power in play on turn 4 or we could play both in the wrong order not discard Agatha and cry. The silver lining is that even in that worse case scenario we will still have 2 4 drops to play on 5 so it's not too bad.
Drax, Rescue or Jessica Jones - We need one more card to fill out our deck and pickings are a little slim. None of these cards play well into Agatha's strengths so it's up to you to decide which of them she is most likely to play correctly. The recent change to Drax puts him over the top in my opinion but feel free to go with your favourite. If you get to tilted though just run The Thing.
And that's the list, some honorable mentions before we finish. Spider-Man has some potential to be strong even if it's a location of Agatha's choosing however his lower power coupled with how much weaker he is played on turn 4 instead of 5 makes him worse than cards with more power. Super Skrull is an excellent tech card which can be played at any location capable of coping some amazing ongoing cards like Iron-Man, Devil Dino & Zabu. However it is equally capable of coping abilities from cards like Electro, Ebony Maw & Red Skull. Our inability to stop Agatha from playing the card into game losing effects is what stops me from adding this card to the deck.
As always I welcome any feedback and I hope you enjoy
