A big hand deck I made based on Cabo34’s deck here: snap.fan/decks/209575
Mine is probably less consistent than theirs, but so far wins pretty often.
The big cards here are Devil Dino (of course), Aero, and Moon Girl.
Let's look at some card choices (I think Devil Dino and Moon Girl explain themselves, so I'll leave them out):
- Collector - With Agent 13, Maria, Moon Girl, Emma, and Beast in the deck, Collector pretty consistently hits higher than 5 power and can easily win you lanes. I've tried to make him work in many decks before this, and he always felt underwhelming, but in this deck he is actually kind of a rockstar. Don't knock him till you try him!
- Beast - I think Beast is… Well, a beast in this deck. Being able to replay Scorpion alone is really strong, but turn 3 1 drop + Beast is usually 2-3 power for Collector, plus extra plays out of scorpion, iceman, and the agents. I‘ve also been able to Moon Girl after playing Beast and get Triple plays out of some of these cards, or with Quinjet you get a freebie which you can drop alongside Aero or Dino, so Beast has done some really great stuff here.
- Aero - Surprisingly, Aero is a fantastic card in this deck, even without Kingpin. Being able to move enemy cards to a lane you're losing anyway is extremely strong, especially if you're playing your Dino on turn 5 and are expecting a Shang Chi. It's toxic as hell, but Moon Girl > Aero > Aero can also win you games by itself, especially with a Kingpin out where she can turn into an offensive card instead of a defensive one. She's very versatile and leads to a lot of wins, which is why she's an essential card. Also worth noting that when you don't have priority, she still moves the opposing cards before they flip, and Kingpin also destroys them before they flip which is insane because you can still destroy stuff like Colossus or Armor this way.
- Quinjet - It seems like it doesn't move the needle much on paper, but Quinjet actually enables some cool stuff in this deck. A lot of people forget, for example, that Moon Girl copies become cheaper with a Quinjet out. If you take into account that Beast also lowers costs, suddenly you can end up with free plays on turn 5 or 6, which can really help if you didn't draw your Dino. Also, lowering card cost to 0 means you can play 1 or 2 cost cards on lanes like Crimson Cosmos or Hellfire Club, so it enables some nice loopholes in some games as well. It's a surprisingly useful card that, while it may not directly win you games, does some good work in the deck.
Now on to some replacements, since the deck does use some Pool 3 and 4 cards that many may not have access to (you really need Aero though):
- Kingpin - As fun as he is with Aero, he's not really necessary in the deck. You could easily replace him with Cosmo, Mr. Fantastic, Shang Chi, or any other 3-4 drop you like in this slot. I will mention, though, that if you have Priority, Kingpin will destroy cards before they flip so you can actually use him and Aero to prevent opponents from using on reveal abilities that might be global, like Silver Surfer or Hazmat, on turn 6. Note that double Aero from Moon Girl is a great way to bait people to play their cards into Kingpin because not everyone expects a second Aero even after you played Moon Girl, and even if they're expecting it, it's not exactly easy to counter.
- Maria Hill - You can easily replace Maria with Cable, Sentinel, or Mantis. I really like Maria here, but Cable or Sentinel can easily do almost the same thing, and Cable has the added bonus of giving you a bit of intel about your opponent's deck. Maria, otoh, has one more power, and always gives you a 1 drop, which will be free with Quinjet out, and is overall more consistent since you know at least what cost your card will be where with Cable it's basically random. So I recommend Maria if you have her, but Cable is a fair substitute (I don't really like Mantis personally, but she works too). Sentinel is interesting because you can play it over and over, and it has a decent synergy with Quinjet, but personally I still prefer Maria; time will tell which is better I suppose.
- Collector - You could probably use Lizard instead of Collector as often he only hits 5 power and Lizard is pretty commonly just 5 power for 2 without needing to set it up. Collector, however, can pretty consistently get above 5 power, and doesn't have Lizard's drawback. I would only replace Collector if you don't have Beast because Beast is really what ties the deck together where Collector is concerned.
- Beast - There's really no replacement for him in pools 1-2, but if you have Falcon instead, I think it could work. I don't have Falcon myself, but in theory he should work similarly. If you also replace Collector with Lizard, Mojo is a good option here too (play him in the same lane as Lizard after Lizard gets nerfed).
- Quinjet - Honestly pretty easy to replace; really anything can go here. Agents, Nightcrawler, Mantis, maybe even Rocket Raccoon (who actually sounds pretty strong with Beast). I really like Quinjet, but it's probably one of the more replaceable cards in the deck.
And of course, you can always replace any card you don't have/want with America Chavez to help make the deck more consistent, however you won't ever play her because Dino/Aero are always better plays, so she's really just there to improve your draws on turns 1-5. Daredevil is also a nice add, if you have him, because he allows you to make better Aero plays. Generally Daredevil is only good, in my opinion, if you can play him turn 2, though, and this deck likes to do other stuff turn 2, so it's hard to say what you'd want to replace with him; maybe, ironically, Kingpin?. He could also be a good turn 4 play alongside another 2 drop, though, I suppose.
