I made this deck to utilize two of my favorite card pairs. Magneto + Thor, and Captain Marvel + Doctor Doom.
The idea behind these pairs is:
1. Thor plays best when you have at least two 6-cost cards in your deck, as drawing Mjolnir gives us less options to piece together on Turn 6. Since you'll want to play him on turn 3, this gives your opponent the option of ignoring the location with Thor, because his 10-power is a lot to overcome. Make sure to play him to a location where they've already developed a card, if possible.
2. Magneto is a 6-cost card, that can pull our opponents cards to Thor's location in case they ignore it. He also likes to be played in a deck with another 6-cost option, because he's very situational. This solves both of Thor's potential downsides!
Captain Marvel + Doctor Doom allow you to pressure all 3 locations simultaneously, and in addition they aren't countered by cards like Shang-Chi and Enchantress. Those tech cards have increased in popularity with the addition of Zabu, so running Devil Dino is a bit riskier now. Captain Marvel is also great when followed up by Magneto, as she can swoop over to a location that you pulled cards from.
Since these pairs don't have an over-arching synergy such as Ongoing, On Reveal, Destroy, Discard etc. I decided the rest of the list should simply be "Good Cards"
Breaking down the Good Cards:
Quinjet gives us a turn 1 play, and works wonders with Sentinel and White Queen (you can play the opponents 6-cost on turn 5 to follow her up)
Mister Fantastic's recent success has a lot to do with the addition of Silver Surfer, but he's the best 3-cost option to slot in because we'll be pressuring all 3 locations with Captain Marvel and Doctor Doom. He also helps you maintain priority, to prevent a Cosmo drop onto any of our many On Reveal cards.
Shang-Chi is another option to play on Turn 6 alongside a Sentinel or Armor, giving us a way to beat Darkhawk, Sauron, and Shuri decks which otherwise beat us in sheer power.
Jessica Jones is often a better play than White Queen on Turn 4, unless we have Quinjet down. Her 8-power helps a lot with the Captain Marvel/Doctor Doom game plan.
If you're missing ANY of the Pool 3 cards (Thor, Captain Marvel, Doctor Doom, or Magneto) then this deck is best suited to run Devil Dino instead. Just be aware of the tech cards I mentioned earlier that counter Dino.
Deck suggestions to run Devil Dino:
Thor -> Cosmo, Jessica Jones -> Moon Girl, Captain Marvel -> Dino, and it's up to you what Aero will replace if you have her. She's another way to protect Dino from an incoming Enchantress/Shang-Chi, if you played Dino without Cosmo/Armor down--in addition to her normal plays.
Lizard and Iceman are other budget options to replace cards that you don't have, or no longer need--such as Mister Fantastic and the 6-costs. Zabu can also be slotted in if you bought the January season pass, since he works with some of the staples such as Moon Girl, Shang-Chi, and White Queen.
