Super Try-hard Rendition Of Nearly Good Deck for Obtaining Kubes
I almost got there, acronyms are hard. There are many decks called S.T.R.O.N.G.D.O.K but this one is mine. My thought process for what would make a good Strong Guy deck was M.O.D.O.K on turn 6, which is not something I've seen many exploring. If your plan is to consistently play a 5 drop on turn 6 then you should also be planning to play a 1 drop along side it. The strongest "1-drop" you can play at the moment is Stature so we just need to choose another between Titania & Demon. I think you could probably go either way but since The Hood would prefer a larger set of supporting cards I choose Titania. Before we continue though I also have a cheaper version of the deck without Stature that I've actually played which you can find here (https://snap.fan/decks/223340/). Both decks are very similar though so if you read the deck techs for both be aware it's largely a copy and paste job so feel free to skip around. With those 4 cards cemented as the core of the deck, I’ll go over my thinking around the rest of my inclusions.
Blackbolt & Moon Knight - If your trying to take advantage of an effect like Stature's you can't rely on just a single card to enable it. These are the only 2 cards currently in the game that force your opponent to discard so by default there in.
Morbius - is the staple payoff of any discard deck, and this one is no exception. Morbius routinely ends up being 8+ power for two cost. It's an obvious include.
Shang-Chi - feels mandatory in the current meta, simple as that.
Green Goblin - is here to be paired with Titania. If you’re not familiar with the combo, on turn 4 if your opponent has two cards at a location or you believe they are likely to play there you can play Titania into Green Goblin. Goblin will jump across and Titania will follow after filling the location. It is very rare for your opponent to fill a location on turn 4 and if they go to 3 Titania won't have room to jump making this quite a safe play. This will often steal you the location only needing to take Titania back on the final turn, which our deck is in a unique position to do since we try to play a one drop next to M.O.D.O.K. This is one of my favourite combos in the game currently and often was solely responsible for a win.
Wolverine - is technically a M.O.D.O.K payoff as well as the only good hit for Moon Knight. Unless your playing him into a location that will kill him I always aim to discard him. Best case scenario he lands in a location you otherwise can't play to or a 4 power surprise after you M.O.D.O.K that your opponent didn't see coming. Ultimately though I don't know if those upsides are enough to justify his inclusion in the deck. The main reason he's here is that I like Wolverine, so he stays.
Scorpion & Sentinel - Our curve doesn't look that bad on paper but Titania and Wolverine aren't actually playable so we need to fix that. Enter the 2 drops of your choice. I've chosen Scorpion because it's neutrally good and typically ends up being 4 or 5 points worth of stats and Sentinel so we can discard it later for Morbius. You should feel free to play whatever you want though.
So that's my list, a couple of things before I leave you though. First the initial version had Aero, but this deck is atrocious at playing for priority. Strong Guy, Morbius and a Titania on the enemy side aren't worth a damn before the M.O.D.O.K, and without priority Aero sucks. Next this is not the decks final form but I believe in the idea and I hope someone more talented than me can take it and optimise it. As of this moment I'm 5 cards away from series 3 complete and when I start prioritising Series 5 cards I won't be starting with Stature so it can't be me. It may take a balance patch till alot of that work can begin though since Shuri and Aero have warped the meta so much I have to assume a change is coming. Lastly I'd like to thank the few people that left comments on some of my other decks. I really enjoy deck building and it feels really satisfying that people were interested enough to say something. Going forward I'm going to try to be posting something unique at least once a week. They will mainly be Theory-crafts though since that's what I enjoy the most but I'll be aiming to post them when any unreleased cards are within a week of release. So thanks for reading and let me know how you found the deck and any changes you made that brought you greater success.
