So yeah, I made this bounce deck and it was great. Managed to go from 80 - infinite rank steadily pushing with this little gem. It all started when I looked at the deck meta and realised that bounce is officially dead, or at least it is no longer listed as a deck type for snap.fan. This made me very sad. I have often enjoyed playing bounce in the past because it does require a lot of thinking and is more enjoyable for me then the braindead shuri into red skull into taskmaster etc... So i guess I should break down some inclusions in this deck and some of the stuff i learnt on the way that made bounce viable in this meta. Oh, just some context, I started playing about a week after global release, have been bought 3 season passes (surfer ,zabu, modok) and am now just under collection level 3000.
Nice.
Ok, so in making this deck I combined 2 main packages, bounce and movement. I know this sounds like a **** combination but trust me when I say bounce by itself is not strong enough, and movement is... well its movement. But when you combine the 2 something magical happens, sort of.
I kept the main core of bounce relatively the same: aka, falcon, beast, angela, bishop.
Movement cards: iron fist, human torch, cloak.
The movement package is what is key to this deck, because you can usually get human torch to at least 8 or more if you play him after iron fist or use cloak, and then this can grow if you get favourable draws and bounce them back into your hand etc...
Now for the extra remaining cards -
Required:
Shang Chi - YOU MUST HAVE THIS MF IN YOUR DECK. Seriously the meta right now has Shuris and She hulks everywhere. This little man is now the 3rd most played card for good reason. Surprisingly, most people do not expect him in a Bounce deck which leads to some nice moments.
Armor - Up there with shang chi right now as she provides that all important defence from nasty killmongers or opposing shang chis when your human torch becomes larger. Can be paired with sunspot if you do not draw effectively in the early turns.
Hood - He can be bounced alongside your other cards to spawn some nice demons, that can be very important for putting large enough numbers into play. Nothing else to say, great card.
Could be substituted:
Sunspot - I am a sunspot simp as it is one of the only cards I have upgraded to ink split, so I tend to just chuck him into decks just for the nice feels I get when I play him. However he is by no means necessary and could be substituted for any other 1 drop, probably Korg or Iceman.
Hawkeye - Thats right, I used Hawkeye. Why? Because I opened a sweet variant of his that I wanted to use. Simple as that. But, he has his merits and if I had time I would rant about why he is not a trash card. To be honest, his spot can (and probably should) be filled by a different card, but I did like it when I could feel my opponents confusion when I played him. I am waiting on Bast, who I would recommend as the best upgrade for this deck slot.
Cards that you can experiment with (also why I chose not to) :
The Collector - Most of you probably wondered why I am not using him. I excluded the collector, because after trying a couple games with him in the deck, it just didnt feel like he put enough numbers into play even if I managed to charge him with falcon. Plus, each of the 2 drops in the deck seemed to add something more valuable then him, especially when lots of the power in this deck comes through the movement sub package, so I used cards like cloak and armor (to enable/ protect human torch) instead.
Chavez - With bounce you tend to want to splurge your hand on turn 6 so I felt that I wasnt really playing her for her power, just to make my deck more consistent. In the end, I took her out for shang chi.
Magik - Making the game longer could be a nice possibility to maximise cards like human torch and bishop, but the problem is that bounce can struggle against the pure output of opponents decks when they get to play multiple 6 drops.
Miles Morales - Can be useful in the movement package, but I found that hood was just more effective.
Bast - If you have it, use it.
Iceman/Korg/other 1 drops - If you are not a fan of my decisions, feel free to switch up the deck and try what you like.
When to snap in general -
Be cautious to snap for this deck, but I recommend when there is an obvious advantage and you have a good starting hand (iron fist, human torch repeat via bounce angle is usually a good opener to have.) Also, people generally do not expect the shang Chi in bounce, so use this knowledge to your advantage.
The end.
P.s. No cube refunds lol, as I am sure you know, marvel snap progression is more to do with the way you snap and retreat than the deck, and every game matchup is different. This deck does took time and effort for me play and learn so use at your own risk and if you are not afraid of losing until you get the hang of it, there is no hate if you prefer other deck types or this simply doesn't work for you.
If you enjoy, lets try and revive bounce a little bit because it is sad when a deck type dies.
