This is a pool 1 deck that I used to climb to infinite in about a week. The only card here that isn't pool one is Killmonger, who I happened to pull early in pool 2-but if you don't have him, don't fret, enchantress is a just-as-good option. The difference between the two is that Killmonger trivializes the zoo decks you'll face, whereas enchantress trivializes the Ongoing/Dino decks you'll face. I prefer Killmonger to Enchantress because Enchantress is anti-synergistic with your own Ironman. If you don't want to play Enchantress, I also had a decent experience with Ironheart.
This is *not* a brainless deck, but as such it's a lot of fun to play. It's very dynamic, can beat any other pool one deck on most location sets, though it requires a bit of experience to play correctly. My win-rate would be like 5 percentage points higher if I wasn't so new to the game and so dumb.
Where this deck outshines the meta pool-1 decks is that it is much, much easier to bait people into giving up 8 cubes, and so you can climb the rankings quickly. Mostly this is because we play around a turn 6 Heimdall, and no one sees it coming because it doesn't look like a standard movement deck. The general strategy is to load up on the right-most location, preferably playing iron man there (leaving with one space open for Heimdall), then feinting like you're going to play for the left-most location with an early Lizard or Racoon, or a midgame Jessica/Nimrod. The opponent snaps because they think they've got two locations in the bag, then you drop the Heimdall and push your stack to the left and take home 8-cubes. Depending on the locations, and what the opponent plays, there are many variations on how this can play out, so it can require some brainpower in predicting what high-cost cards the opponent is likely to play. So it's not enough to just know this deck, you've got to know the decks you're playing against (Odin/blueMarvel/Dino/etc.) There's not that many pool one decks, so it's doable. The better you are at recognizing when a situation is hopeless, the better you get at conceding and climbing those ranks.
Below I've listed the cards involved and their considerations.
1.) Nightcrawler
This is a very flexible 1-cost that is a decent target for the Hulk Buster which will give you some dynamic potential on the board.
2.) Rocket Racoon
The best bang-for-buck 1-cost if it lands the reveal. You're not laying down many cards, so the cards that you do lay down need to be high powered.
3.) Multiple Man
The ideal target for the Hulk Buster armor. Juicing him up potentially gives double the usage of the armor, making it very cost efficient. You almost always want to have him be a part of the right-most location, because Heimdall always pushes left.
4.) Lizard
Generic bang for buck low-cost unit. Very tricky unit as well, because usually people will instinctually try to fill up his location to trigger the ongoing effect, but if you move him out of the way, he gets is points back. Yay!
5.) Killmonger/Enchantress/Ironheart
Killmonger/Enchantress are usually turn 6 counter plays. If you see you are playing against a zoo deck, hold the killmonger and your one costs so you can play them all on turn 6. Same is more or less true for Enchantress if you're playing against an Ongoing or Dino deck (be careful not to hit your own Iron Man!). If you can't/don't want to play either of those, Ironheart is a good option to synergize with the right-lane build up strategy. You want as much power dedicated on that right most lane, and Ironheart lets you do that.
6.) Groot
A bang-for buck 3-cost.
7.) Hulk Buster
This card wins a lot of games. It synergizes with the 'build up one lane' strategy. It also is **super** effective on certain locations - anything board that has a location that doubles a card, or doubles a card's power is almost an insta-win if you draw this card early enough.
8.) Jessica Jones
Good bang-for-buck card. In this deck it is a *great* feint card. Play it on the left-most location on turn four, turn five drop your ironman on the right lane, then turn 6, you drop the heimdall on either the right lane -- or you can drop it on jessica's lane if it's the better play.
9.) Namor/Thing
I climbed most of the way to infinite using The Thing, until I realized later that namor was just a better overall 4/6. Namor, like Jessica, is a great distraction card by itself, but can also help in the buildup on that right lane. Also a decent target for the hulkbuster armor.
10.) Iron Man
Iron Man is probably the best pool-1 card in the game. The amount of punch he delivers for a five cost is insane. He is the lynchpin in this strategy. If you don't draw him, the game isn't lost because you have decent strength in the rest of your cards, but it's better if you do draw him!
11.) Heimdall
Heimdall is what enables the snipe.
12.) Hulk
There will be many instances where you don't want to shift cards, or perhaps it's better to just concentrate power on a certain location--for example, if you are winning two locations on turn 6, it can be best to play a Hulk aggressively on your losing location instead of playing Heimdall. Hulk gives you this ability. He also trivializes certain locations (doubling power locations. duplicate card, fill with card, 6-cost only, etc.)
And that's the deck! Good Luck!
