The Game Plan
Nebula is the latest season pass card, and boy is she fun! This list aims to make use of some simple cards in order to control the board and gain tons of power by punishing where our opponents play.
The Guardians of the Galaxy cards pair well with Nebula, making sure that whether your opponent plays a card or not, you are getting a lot of points in Nebula's lane. However, there are some other cards that really benefit from this effect like Adam Warlock, Professor X, Jessica Jones, and even Punisher!
The Decklist
- Nebula is a flexible card that has a lot of value in its inherent mind games with your opponent. You can punish your opponent playing in that lane by using the Guardians cards or Punisher, but if they don't play in that lane you can add pressure with Adam Warlock, Crossbones, or Jessica Jones.
- Adam Warlock benefits a ton from the high-power plays of the Guardians cards, and really synergizes with Thor and Devil Dinosaur because of this.
- Daredevil is a natural inclusion for the Guardians cards and Professor X, which allows for some insane power swings and lane closers.
- Star-Lord is a natural and effective 2 drop in this list, and is really nice to land on turn 2 with Nebula or Adam Warlock.
- Punisher is a card that doesn't see much play, but I think in this list he really works as a more reliable Groot, since he can be played under cards like Cosmo.
- Thor might seem like an odd pick, but with the amazing power that comes from this deck's early game, you can easily get the card draw you need for Mjolnir and can add crazy pressure to your Nebula lane.
- Shang-Chi is a fantastic tech card, and serves as an alternate way to swing a lane if some of your other cards aren't quite hitting the mark.
- Jessica Jones is a simple but effective 8 power in a lane, and works really well with Thor, Adam Warlock, and Nebula. I think she also works better than Drax in this slot, since you control her power.
- Crossbones is a "win more card", but can really come in clutch in securing your Nebula lane and rewarding you for landing your Guardians cards.
- Devil Dinosaur is a high-power and reliable card to hold down a lane, working in tandem with Adam Warlock in this deck to keep your hand large.
- Professor X is both a win condition and a control tool to prevent your opponent from playing what they need to. Set him up with Daredevil, and his power is incredible.
- Gamora works on so many fronts in this deck, acting is an alternative to Devil Dinosaur for power, benefiting from Daredevil, and playing well with Nebula too!
Deck Replacements and Improvements
While this list is aimed at some lower collection levels, there are a ton of choices for alternative power swings and win conditions. Groot, Drax, and Rocket Raccoon could be great in this deck, as well as Lizard, Rescue, and either of the goblins.
Ideally, the choices you make enable your Adam Warlock and Nebula, so do with that what you will!
The Wrap-Up
I think Nebula really enables this deck in a way where it might not have worked before, with the key being consistency. She really rounds out the Guardians cards, and for that reason I finally have a reason to upgrade those cards.
Good luck and have fun!
