The Game Plan
High Evolutionary has made a huge impact on his release with the decks that he enables, and this one is no different. This is a simple energy skip shell with Magik, Jubilee, and Shocker making it possible to play both The Infinaut and Hulk in the same game.
I find this list is pretty simple to run, with the idea to play off-curve every turn to really boost The Hulk and benefit your other cards.
The Decklist
- Wasp enables you to skip some energy while still having some impact on the board.
- Sunspot is an easy inclusion, as with this list he can easily get to 5+ power.
- Nebula is a backup to Sunspot and makes it easy to play off-curve.
- Armor protects both our 1-costs and our high power cards from Killmonger and Shang-Chi, respectively.
- Shocker can enable energy-skipping and can allow our Infinaut to be 5 cost. This is huge, and can allow us to skip turn 4, play Infinaut turn 5, and Hulk turn 6.
- Cyclops is an easy inclusion as he benefits from energy skipping, and can also contend a Storm lane which is pretty popular choice right now.
- Jubilee thins our deck and can pull some of our bigger cards like She-Hulk, Hulk, and The Infinaut.
- High Evolutionary is a dead card in hand, so it's very rare that you should ever play him. As a benefit though, the cards he changes literally make this deck!
- Magik can allow you to extend the game for a She-Hulk + Infinaut or whatever combination you need. It can also allow you to gage a game before leaving, as a lot of decks use huge turn 6 plays right now.
- She-Hulk is a natural inclusion for energy-skipping and pairs well with both Hulk and Infinaut on turn 7 should you play Magik.
- Hulk is a big star of this deck and can easily be 18-22 power. It's good to choose one lane to leave vacant for his drop, as he can easily contend a lane on his own.
- The Infinaut is a solid backup for Hulk, but can also be paired with him if discounted by Shocker. It's super powerful!
Deck Replacements and Improvements
A more optimized build might opt for Moon Girl to really benefit from She-Hulk and Hulk, or simply remove most cards except Hulk and Sunspot. There are a lot of archetypes you can build, this one just leans heavily on playing off-curve, so you can be creative!
The Wrap-Up
I've had quite a bit of success with this deck, and I think it's pretty simple to pilot. I'll play with it for the rest of the season and see where it gets me.
