Introduction
This is my patriot deck that I have seem some decent success with. This is the first pool 3 centric deck I ever tried playing and I absolutely loved it! This deck is somewhat simple to play (with some changes that can make it very interesting) and is also surprisingly a really good deck to do daily missions with!
Playstyles
I have ranked these from best to worst (in my personal opinion) and the majority of all games you play should follow one of these three styles:
- Play around Ultron - My personal favorite way to play this deck, as you can usually fill other lanes with ~12-20 power on the last turn, making it very hard for people to counter play and fill all three lanes with enough power to overtake the drones. The main way to do this is by getting ultron & a good buffer (patriot, blue marvel or kazar) by turn 3. Then you just focus on playing cards into one lane from turn 3-6, allowing you to drop Ultron into a full lane and filling up all others with a massive amount of power.
- Play around Onslaught - Onslaught plays usually require you to play more around two lanes rather than three, so some thought needs to go into where you will drop him. The most ideal target for onslaught is obviously patriot, so making sure you can get them both in the same lane, ideally with something like blue marvel can mean other cards get a good amount of power.
- Play for value - If you did not get either Onslaught or Ultron, you usually just need to play on curve and make sure you fight heavily for two lanes specifically.
Substitutions
- Patriot - You cannot replace this. I would suggest trying a KaZoo deck if you do not have Patriot.
- Ultron - You can replace Ultron as other Patriot lists do not run it but in this style of the deck, I would say he helps lots to bring in late game swings. If you really cannot get Ultron, Iron Man could work to help win a lane late game.
- Brood - Brood was actually a my most recent addition to this list, so I did play without him. I mainly ran Abomination, but looking back I would say Iron Man would work better as he could really help lock down lanes with Onslaught if the Ultron line was not going to play out well. Storm could also be quite interesting, as this would help really force users to play into lanes your Ultron could fill, but does make other styles worse.
This deck has far and away become my favorite to play on ladder as around the ranks I play at (~40), I can usually catch people off guard with the Ultron play and it feels very stable to climb with. Hopefully this deck can help you climb a little or give you some fun!
