I made this deck pretty early in the season and it has been my main deck for the season. Before we got started my goal was to use all of the Black Order but not rely on Thanos. The goons need to shine on their own :wink: But on further thought I wanted the deck to have a good chance of winning and being competitive. The goons need to show results else they get to retire :axe:.
So,
a little bit Black Order;
a little bit Clog;
We control;
We create chaos.
Break down:
1-drops: Hood, Ham
2-drops: Zabu, Jeff
3-drops: Gladiator, Black Swan
4-drops: Cull Obsidian, Sentry, Super Gaint, Shang-chi
5-drops: Annihilus
6-drop: Alioth
Ideal line:
T1 - Hood
T2 - Zabu
T3 - Cull/Gladiator
T4 - Sentery + Ham
T5 - Gladiator/Cull+ Jeff
T6 - Annihilus + Demon
Alt
T4 - Super Giant + Ham/Demon
T5 - Annihilus
T6 - Alioth
Alt-Alt
T6 - Sentery + Shang-chi
The deck is primarily aimed at putting points on the board early and making them unable to come back.
The core of Hood, Sentry, and Annihilus has been my favorite ever since Annihilus came out. Earlier we used to have the rest of the deck be a DarkHawk-style mid-ranger or a Werewolf-style bounce one. But the presence of Super Giant makes the Purple Cloud irresistible to me.
Cull is another big points 4-drop that makes it 3 4-drops so Zabu is an auto-include at that point. Black Swan helps with a Cull + 1 drop on 4(you can't always Super Giant on 4)
Destroy is a huge problem as they can get rid of the junk easily, so Ham and Shang-chi are a good idea. Shadow King was the other option, but the meta has turned and green numbers are not that prevalent.
Sera, Jane Foster, and other decks dependent on a big turn 5 can be dealt with Super Gaint. If you can guess it and draw well then you might catch Loki with the gaint as well, but don't count on it.
With that being said Discard is difficult to deal with, the only option is to get lucky with Ham, or they implode. So be prepared to lose 1 cube to Hela, she deserves the tribute.
