The Game Plan
Uatu and Domino are both cards with bad reputations, but I came up with a way where they could be stronger together. With the third location showing up for turn 3, Uatu can give us the knowledge of where Domino fits best on turn 2. If it's Sanctum Sanctorum, for example, getting in there right before it flips can be extremely valuable, and there are plenty more locations where being there first can give us a big advantage.
Are Uatu and Domino replaceable? Sure, but having a pretty consistent Hawkeye or Quake play feels great, and I think that the rest of the deck is good enough to gain wins in the event that we don't get the strongest locations to work with. The rest of this list is mostly "Good Cards" that work consistently to put power on the board and shut down some archetypes thanks to our tech cards.
The Decklist
- Hawkeye works as a consistent 1 drop that has a higher chance to appear in our hand turn 1 thanks to Domino. When this happens, we can always count on Domino to get Hawkeye to 4 power on turn 2.
- Uatu the Watcher is definitely in the need for a buff, as seeing 1 location is mediocre, but in this list it works alright because we consistently can make use of the right location before turn 3 thanks to Domino.
- Domino is consistent, combos with Hawkeye and Uatu, and can earn us priority when we need it.
- Quake is a sneaky card that can win games on her own, and we can start planning for her ahead of time thanks to Uatu.
- Maximus is both a card that can help us in the early game and also helps to support our Ronan later in the game. He also works if we need that extra power in the Uatu location if Domino isn't going to cut it, which happens on rare occasion.
- Mobius M. Mobius is a great tech card that we can afford to play since we have power being thrown elsewhere. He really helps in the Loki and Destroy matchup, but also pushes the location advantages we can get by helping us avoid things like Dream Dimension or stopping our opponent from getting Elysium.
- Red Guardian is a solid tech card that can really swing certain matchups while having a relatively high floor for a tech card. Hitting an Iron Man or Angela feels great, and he's often a 3/5 at his worst.
- Shang-Chi is a classic for a reason and really works against greedy Shuri/Destroy decks.
- Absorbing Man is probably the flex spot in this list, but I really like being able to double Maximus last turn for Ronan or double Shang-Chi against certain lists.
- Ms. Marvel is a great supporting card that can give our tech cards a boost and get us over the top of some other mid-range lists.
- Ronan the Accuser is simply a "big guy" in this list. Sometimes he's huge on his own, while other times we'll need to support him with Maximus. Either way, he can help us hold down a lane on his own while we problem solve with our other cards, which is extremely valuable.
- Doctor Doom is a consistent play on turn 6 that can also help fill spots for Ms. Marvel.
The Wrap-Up
While I don't think this list is optimal by any means, I think it does achieve what it set out to do: make Uatu and Domino playable. This list is also great to just vibe with on ladder, since it isn't particularly dependent on a late-game combo or a million choices to make before the end of the game.
