Shuri, Blink, Kitty Pryde, and Hope Summers form the backbone of this deck. The idea is that these cards enable big plays sooner than would otherwise be allowed, dumping large and incontestable power once a setup has been established.
The cards of my choice were for the following reasons:
Odin and Heimdall synergize with Shuri, as demonstrated by Regis some time ago. This deck hones that package with other supporting pieces like Hope, Magik, and Blink to make it easier to achieve. Odin is also good with Blink if she gets out early. Heimdall tends to be a solid fakeout whenever he’s played, and I always leave room to the right in case I need to make a shift.
Magneto and Red Hulk are just some of my preferred 6-Costs. You can replace these with others that suit your individual playstyle. For me, I prefer to force players into lanes they can’t win.
Caiera seems cuttable, but she’s the cube stealer. She keeps Kitty safe from Killmonger and all the 6-Costs safe from Shang Chi. She is also good for early curve gameplay when other cards aren’t available.
I don’t have Thena right now- I’ve been using Angela and she’s fine. However, I can see that most turns I end up playing two cards- a small card like Kitty or Angela and a big card like Vision or Heimdall. Plus, without the Elsa Bloodstone stuff, we don’t really focus on bouncing Kitty so much as using her as a trigger for Thena, Blink, or Hope.
Notable Combos:
Hope -> Shuri -> 6-Cost -> 6-Cost + Kitty
Hope -> Shuri -> 6-Cost -> Thena + 5-Cost
Shuri -> Odin -> Heimdall
Shuri -> Odin -> Magneto (if this would be adequately disruptive)
Shuri -> Blink
Kitty/Thena -> Blink (great late game combo if you didn’t hit any good 6-Costs)
