The Idea
Main thought process here was that it doesn't matter if a card is -1 or -10, Ajax still gets the power, so I'm going to use cards that get red numbers on the board in a way that doesn't conflict with itself, or commit so heavily into cards like High Evo, which take up a LOT of deck real estate.
The Cards
The Hood is Nico or Valkyrie fodder. Demon getting hit by Hazmat is fine, a 1/5 is still good, great turn 6 play alongside a 5 drop, as well.
Kitty Pryde can get big and dodge Hazmat doing it. Great turn 6 play alongside a 5 drop.
Nebula is either getting bigger, or causing -4 somewhere by making the enemy not play on the Widow's Kiss lane. One +2 makes her not care about Hazmat so much.
Nico Minoru is a lovely multi tool here, all of her spells synergize with the deck very well, destroy/draw and demon are great for most of the on reveals, and adding power to cards to make up for Hazmat or to support a Valkyrie lane.
Thena is here for cheap, scaling power, using Kitty Pryde to ensure a lot of turns with 2 cards played.
Hazmat. Does the thing. Play her later.
Scorpion hits the cards that Cassandra doesn't.
White Widow makes for a nice partner to Nebula, while creating a red number for Ajax. Clutter good. Can be Grandmaster, or Absorbing man (gm is way better than abs here, though)
Cassandra Nova is theoretically a 3/7 that gives Ajax more power. If played after turn 3, not as effective, so I'll have to see how good she feels. Gladiator is who I'm subbing in until she releases, but any big 3 that can be played on curve is good, Sage felt pretty mid here.
Red guardian is this deck's generically good tech card that just so happens to buff Ajax, too. Can be Rogue, especially during launch week with assumedly a lot of Luke Cage.
Valkyrie can swing a location while creating more red numbers to boost your Ajax at the same time. Most of the cards here really care too much about being hit, but White Widow and Cassandra care the most. Hitting Thena with Valkyrie alongside Kitty Pryde on turn 6 has great scam potential.
Ajax is this deck's titular big guy, and by now I don't think I need to explain why or how.
The Other Cards
I want to see Valentina in this deck, probably over The Hood? I messed around with a similar shell that had Goose and USAgent, which didn't feel as cohesive and turned into the current deck, but there could be something there, too. Definitely considering some kind of Ajax control list.
No Luke Cage because this deck does well playing around the negative power, and no Typhoid Mary because Valkyrie is so important to this deck.
When she releases this September, Silver Sable will be an excellent addition to the deck, likely replacing The Hood.
