This is one of the nastiest decks I’ve seen recently. Sure, it could be nastier, but this is what works most consistently with what I know.
To start, the suggested cards can be swapped in for any cards you don’t have as is self-explanatory, plus an Armor to prevent against Shang-Chis, though I haven’t had a much trouble with him due to the sheer Power output from the cards.
Bast is the best card to play first, followed by The Hood. It’s best to not have Black Panther in your deck when popping her but is generally inconsequential. The majority of cards played after Bast will cost one less once Ravonna is played, then most after that not in your deck will either be free or cost one Power following a Mr. Negative play. You’ll have enough Power naturally to play any cards beyond that point. If you don’t have any cards to play by Turn 3, retreat might be best.
Any On Reveal cards that increase Power are best played after Wong, with Mystique being able to copy his or Iron Man’s abilities. Absorbing Man doesn’t need to be played where Wong is as the second activation would simply be copying his own text, which is technically already overwritten on play. Playing Sage and/or Cassandra Nova before Absorbing Man on a Wong space will boost your Power substantially in the right circumstances, foremost of which will be present once you’re able to play them. Any Sinister London locations will amplify this process substantially. If your opponent has a large deck early on from sources such as Arishem or District X, play Cassandra Nova as early as you can right before an Absorbing Man if possible.
Ironheart is an underutilized card that shouldn’t be overlooked. When played right, she can boost cards above what Mr. Negative can alone and often helps set the stage for a Sage placement as well as serving as a further Iron Man boost. She’s what will get you out of tight situations if following a Wong and/or preceding an Absorbing Man. (Keep in mind that placing her after a Wong and a Mystique nets you up to +24 Power across the board.)
Overall, if any card should be swapped for Armor, I imagine The Hood or Ravonna would be the one, though I leave that at your discretion.
EDIT: I’ve realized that Ravonna goes off of current power, so Bast really functions as a backup if you don’t draw Ravonna within the first 3 turns. She’s also incredibly good with Mystique, though you should generally play Mystique after Wong as mentioned above.
With how starting hands are distributed, Bast would be a good swap for Armor since you can’t always play a card first turn (and/or a lot of low-power cards are drawn, which are sort of the whole point of our deck), but again I rarely encounter a Shang-Chi with this deck. Bullseye would also be a potential candidate to be swapped with Bast if he stays as a 1-Cost on release.
The Hood is incredibly good for generating high-power cards that can be played to use up the rest of your energy along with cards Ravonna has lowered the cost of.
I’ve decided to swap Bast for Silver Sable. She has the same benefits as both Cassandra and a Demon and particularly excels when paired with Wong > Mystique and/or Absorbing Man.
