When the hand draws give you what you want/need, this deck is killin it right now. You really want to double that Sera with Onslaught so that you can dump whatever is in your hand on the last turn. There are a few ways of doing this:
- Magik by turn 4, Sera turn 5, Onslaught turn 6, dump your hand on turn 7.
- Magik by turn 4, Blink on turn 5, your Magik will then either be Sera or Onslaught from Blinking Magik away so on turn 6 you will want to play whatever didn't show up on the board so either play your Sera on your Onslaught or your Onslaught on your Sera, turn 7 you dump your hand.
- Wave on 3, Sera on 4, Onslaught on 5 (Sera makes him cost 5), hand dump on turn 6.
- Wave on 3, Blink on 4, Onslaught/Sera etc etc
Ok, so a couple of things to point out. As always, know when to snap. That is the whole name of the game. I was retreating a TON while getting the hang of this. That is with any deck though, but I still feel the need to say it. Anyway, doubling Sera makes everything in your hand so damn cheap and Blinking Magik or Wave away will always give you Onslaught or Sera unless they're already in your hand, then Blink won't blink anything lol Now, once you get to your last turn and you have a butt load of super cheap stuff to lay out, here are some things to remember:
- If you have Surtur in hand, play that first before dumping the rest onto the board. You have some cards that WILL proc Surtur.
- Play Strong Guy on your Onslaught lane and he'll be massive AND proc your Surtur.
- Watch out for Cosmo, you have quite a bit of power behind on reveal cards
- Make sure you understand how Sage works. If you have her, you might want to play her last in whatever lane you're putting her in. She can also proc Surtur.
- Rogue is a fantastic card to steal an opponent's whatever (I've taken so many Morbius and Knull) which will also proc Surtur.
- Obviously your Monkey is gonna be quite large with all the cards your layin down, so that will also proc Surtur.
- Killmonger won't proc Surtur, but he can get rid of any pesky 1 costs your opponent may have played, but more importantly, he'll get buffed from Surfer as he's a 3 cost card even though for you, he is only costing 1 cause of double Sera.
- I try to play Surfer last and anywhere he'll do his on reveal. I mean, look at all the 3 costs in this deck..he buffs like everything you just dumped!
I think that is everything! Right now, 11/22/24, this deck is playing great. You just have to pay attention and know when you need to get the heck outta there. Know which cards you absolutely need to make this whole thing work. There are other versions of this deck out there that don't run Surtur, but I found that he works great in this deck with all the options that can proc his ability, but also he's a 3 cost card so if anything, Surfer will hit him. As you climb the ladder and start to see more experienced players, you will run into more opponents retreating when you hit your doubled up Sera because they know what is coming. So figure out the timing of your snaps and as always, don't suck; WIN. oh and have fun or whatever.
