Leak History of "Jane Foster"
For those who don't know, Jane Foster previously had a different effect. Previously she would get double her current power if you controlled a 10 Power card. I made a theory craft with that effect here: https://snap.fan/decks/674/ \< I was VERY excited to play, so I hope that effect ends up getting printed on another card.
Jane Foster's new effect is EXTREMELY unique
I knew I wanted to make a new theory craft for Jane that wasn't just the On Reveal package with Thor because I've already made a theory-crafted list for Thor. Jane Foster's new effect draws all cards that cost 0 from your deck. At first, I didn't think much of the effect. If you didn't know most of the effects in Marvel Snap that care about the cost of a card, check for the card's original cost, but Jane uniquely checks for the current cost of the card.
For future reference, there is a wording difference to be noted. Crimson Cosmo and The Big House say "X-cost cards can't be played here." But Jane says, "Cards that cost X." This means "X-cost" refers to the original cost of the card, while "cards that cost X" will always check for current cost.
Card explanations
The Hood -
The Hood provides the deck with early board development that normally isn't possible while also being a cheap card to play into Lockjaw. While Inverted The Hood is at worst a Wasp, which isn't an awful card to have.
Psylocke -
Psylocke is probably the most important "support" card in the deck, she lets you play a turn 3 Mister Negative, Ronan, or Jubilee.
Ironheart
Ironheart is an essential card for the deck. She's a prime target to be "looped" with Lockjaw & while inverted, she's an incredibly powerful card.
Morph
The weakness of this deck is its early game. Having a card you can play on turn 3 when you don't draw Psylocke is incredibly important, Morph fills that role. Additionally, Morph can be drawn with Jane for free while inverted.
Mystique
Mystique is SUPER essential for this deck even though we only run two Ongoing effects. Additionally, she can be drawn with Jane while inverted.
Lockjaw
Lockjaw lets you reach Mister Negative "faster." But most of the time, you want to cycle Lockjaw effects on the last turn, letting you access more "inverted cards." Most of the deck is constructed with this in mind: "Is this card good when it pops out of Lockjaw," because Lockjaw is THAT important for this deck.
Ronan
Ronan is a replacement for Devil Dinosaur since his nerf. I haven't had the chance to test this, but our hand is often more empty than the opponent's, so Ronan should be better. While inverted, Ronan can also be drawn by Jane.
Jubilee
Jubilee lets you reach more Inverted cards & is a decent turn 4 play when you don't draw Mister Negative.
Mister Negative
Mister Negative is the key card of the deck.
Iron Man
Iron Man is a core card for the deck. Without the value he generates from being Inverted, the deck probably couldn't function the same way.
White Tiger
White Tiger is a decent win-con. Accessing "can't be played" locations is surprisingly good.
Jane Foster
Jane is the newest card added to the deck. (Obviously untested) Jane in-theory should give the deck a much more extensive range of "outs" and even let you play into Lockjaw early, which you currently generally want to avoid while piloting this deck.
Potential card changes & replacements.
Devil Dinosaur is a good replacement for Ronan if you don't own him.
Arnim Zola is incredibly bad when he pops out of Lockjaw, but if you need to slot him in to replace another card give it a shot! At least he gets drawn by Jane Foster.
Wolfsbane is an incredibly powerful in this list. I only cut her for Morph because we NEED an early game play & Morph can be drawn from Jane.
