The image is out and we know which cards are dropping series this month. This should also come with a patch (that of course will be disclosed and analyzed here!). The patch date should be Tuesday, April 18th.
First off, there are a few things worth noting from the specifics of the series drops:
- Black Panther is the first season pass card to hit s3 since the token shop has opened. Thus far, we have seen: 1-month duration as season pass card, 1 month duration as a s5 card, 3 month duration as a s4 card. The first 2 bits have been consistent, and we have no reason to expect the drop to s3 to not also be consistent. There should now be 1 season pass card moving to s3 every month (in release order).
- Also, every card moving down with Black Panther now moved down to s4 with Black Panther as well. So it seems like every card moving forward is going to have a 3-month s4 duration, not just season pass cards. If this is correct, in May (so next month) we will see Silver Surfer, Darkhawk, Knull, and Sentry moving to s3.
- And in June, we will see Zabu, Sauron, Shanna, Dazzler, and Shadow King move to s3.
- Other cards are moving down in a relative release order (the initial drops were hazy because they were all put into s4 or s5 at the same time).
Realize the May/June predictions above should let you truly know what s4 cards are worth buying or not at this point. We have a lot more ability to really know how much value we are getting out of our purchases.
Now, with the patch, do not forget that the free s3 card available to you will reset, and last month it did not matter if you were s3-complete when the patch hit. So long as after the patch hits, you have at least 1 s3 card you can get for free, it will be in the free s3 portion of the shop.
Another change coming with this patch is the beginning of weekly OTA balance patches. So starting the week after the patch I think, we can expect these regular balance changes. I think I like this, but I know some people don't because suddenly it becomes a chore to keep up with changes. We'll have to see how it works out.
