Black Order Developer Update - February 2024

Black Order Marvel Snap Season

The latest season of MARVEL SNAP called "Black Order" is about to be released. You will get to play with a whole new set of cards including Black Swan, Cull Obsidian, Supergiant, Proxima Midnight, and Corvus Glaive, all led by the Mad Titan. Moreover, you can expect to receive various rewards with the Premium Season Pass, such as new variants for Ebony Maw and Death, new cardbacks, locations, and much more.

Season Cards

Black Swan

Activate: Until the end of next turn, your 1-Cost cards cost 0.

Black Swan is going to be the season pass card for the upcoming Black Order Season. Yabbat Ummon Turru is the only remaining part of Earth-1365, and it's a 3-cost, 5-power card that states, On Reveal: Until the next turn, your 1-cost cards cost 0. It will be interesting to see how players use this card in their decks. Keep an eye out for Hit Monkey decks that will likely take advantage of this ability.

Supergiant

On Reveal: All cards played next turn don't reveal until the game ends.

Get ready for the telepathic volatility that is Supergiant. Supergiant is a 4-cost, 5-power that states, On Reveal: All cards played next turn don't reveal until the game ends. Supergiant will create blunders for combo decks. She doubles my blunders because I find a way to mess my combos up all the time!

Cull Obsidian

You can only play this where you have a 1-Cost card.

Cull Obsidian, or Black Dwarf will be joining Marvel Snap in the Black Order season. As the child of Thanos, Cull may not stray too far from Papa Thanos. Cull Obsidian is a 4-cost, 10-power that can only be played in a location where a 1-cost card is present. Let's assemble the children of Thanos! Place Nebula and Cull in the same lane so your opponent knows that siblings are the only cards allowed to be played during your encounter.

Corvus Glaive

On Reveal: Discard 2 cards from your hand to get +1 Max Energy.

Corvus Glaive. BEWD. Discard. I see three things that go together. Corvus Glaive is an On Reveal that has you discard 2 cards from your hand in exchange for +1 Max Energy. Glaive never hits Hela. That is the BEWD guarantee. On a side note, there are 3 five power cards coming out this season for Cerebro players. Let the cooking commence.

Proxima Midnight

When this is discarded, jumps to your lowest-Power location. (that isn't full)

Holy smokes Proxima Midnight is a 4-cost with 7-power! What a stat line! Proxima Midnight reads when this is discarded, jumps to your lowest-Power location. Step aside Wolverine. Proxima can take it from here.

New Locations

Black Vortex

The next card you play here becomes a random 6-Cost card.

Fingers crossed you don't get Destroyer if you play into this location late. Unless you want that then rejoice!

Sanctuary II

Add a random Infinity Stone to your hand.

Please, please, please. Don't give me the Power Stone in my non-Thanos decks. Thank you!

Season Pass Variants

Costs 1 less for each card destroyed this game.

You can't play this after turn 3. Ongoing: You can't play cards here.

Activate: Until the end of next turn, your 1-Cost cards cost 0.

Artgerm variants are set to take over the shop from February 29th to March 1st. Here is a refresher on the Artgerm variants in the game, as well as the ones that have been data mined.

On Reveal: Move the last enemy card played anywhere to this location.

If this is in your hand after the turn, discard it.

At the end of the game, move to a location that wins you the game. (If possible)

On Reveal: Destroy your other cards here. +2 Power for each destroyed.

Ongoing: +2 Power for each location that's full on your side.

On Reveal: Add a 5-Power DoomBot to each other location.

On Reveal: The last card you played moves here.

When this moves, double its Power.

Ongoing: Cards you play here are not revealed until the game ends.

On Reveal: Draw all cards that cost 0 from your deck.
