As always, Snap.Fan is your premiere source for cutting edge info about upcoming Marvel Snap content, and our data mining magicians have come through once again!
We found the following references in the data files:
- CollectibleFinishesAndFlares
- UltimateFinishesAndFlares
- CustomGame
- HighVoltage
We know that these are new features that are going to be added in the next patch! We don't have much concrete info beyond these references in the code, but I'll make some educated guesses on what these could be.
CollectibleFinishesAndFlares
My best guess:
We recently had a number of new background finishes and flare effects datamined. This likely means they will be added to the cosmetics shop, where they will be purchasable with gold.
Other theories:
They are also likely to appear in bundles, as rewards for things like Leagues and Alliances, and anywhere else you currently find collectible borders.
UltimateFinishesAndFlares
My best guess:
Snap has long needed a way for big spenders to off-load their excess Collector's Tokens and this is likely to be it. Quite a few medium and high budget players that began at global launch are currently swimming in Tokens. In the custom card menu, Collector's Tokens already appear in the upper right alongside gold, so we already suspected cosmetics that cost Tokens would be coming.
Which flares and finishes are most likely to be considered “Ultimate?” I think the “Wolverine” background and the spinning galaxy “Space” effect seem likely to cost more.
Other theories:
It's possible that certain backgrounds or effects will only be applicable to Ultimate variants. Second Dinner has been looking for a way to make Ultimate variants feel more special and justify their 5000 Token price tag for a while.
CustomGame
My best guess:
Could this finally be the long-awaited sandbox mode? In some games, “Custom Game” is used to describe a mode where the player can create a match with custom settings and options. These types of modes often involve play against bots. How extensive would this be? Could you control locations? Energy amounts? Opponent's deck? Cube amounts? If we do get a sandbox mode it may become the de facto casual mode in Snap, supplanting Proving Grounds.
Other theories:
This could also refer to customized cosmetic settings for your cards or even the game board! Alternatively, what if this is a way to set up friendly battles without a match code?
HighVoltage
My best guess:
Whew, boy, this one could really be anything, but it sounds exciting. It's probably wishful thinking that it's some kind of new game mode. It's more likely to be a new shop or reward system. There were also references to “energy” related to the new Snap Packs feature. “SNAP PACK CHARGE AVAILABLE," and “Win games to turn energy into packs!” also appear in the files. I think this is likely related to the way you earn Snap Packs and perhaps a way to pay to earn them more quickly.
Other theories:
Maybe it's an in-game daily spin for cosmetics or currency like the one that currently exists in the web shop. Or a new game mode with more energy! A new type of cosmetic that crackles with electricity! A way to supercharge your shop in some way! This one is tough to work out, share your theories in the comments!
Fire Giant Time
We've also found more information related to November’s Thor and Asgard themed season.
Yes, that's right! It appears that Surtur will be the season pass card!
As I previously guessed, these Andrea Guardino variants are set to be included in the season pass.
We'll also be getting a Thor character album with a Thor reaction set!

We've also found two new recap bundles. These recap bundles are usually made available at the same time as the season stats recap goes live and they tend to be pretty solid value and these Luca Claretti bundles are no exception.

One More Thing
Weve talked about Auto Sync, our exclusive tool for being able to sync your collection and profile for all platforms on the web, and today we are sharing a sneak peak with our next plans for it and the android app! For those unaware, Android 14 broke snap trackers but with auto sync, we can bypass that, so the new version of our app will allow you to easily sign up for and use auto sync!
And to make it even better, we are getting close to finishing our new premium tool that can spectate your games so we can provide a tracker on all ios and android as well as providing an easily way to swap back and forth from snap and our tracker on android. Excited to share more! PS This pic is very WIP design wise, but you get the picture :)
