Rian Gonzales variants are one of the hottest commodity variants in Marvel Snap. A large portion of the community will proactively seek out her artwork to be their default variant due to her unique cartooning and color palette. But, how does this pack compare to the others in both resources & variant rankings? Let's break it down...
Variants
Rescue - Although Rescue, aka Pepper Potts, is in the bottom 10% of cards played in Marvel Snap, that doesn't exucse this variant from being well-made. The chibi-inspired dimensions and lavender accents bring an eloquent strength to Rescue. I love the nod here as well as this variant holds a black cat (which could be alluding to either Tony Starks nickname for Pepper [Kitty] or hinting towards the Catverse where Pepper Potts' sister is named 'Cat'). This variant makes my top 3 versions of Rescue definitely.
Scarlet Witch - With the recent rise of Legion to the game, location interference on turn 5/6 has brought some use case back to Scarlet Witch. This makes her variant more valuable as it shall be possibly used and seen more. Out of all the variants, this out appears to be the most 'light-hearted' when approaching Scarlet Witch. Even as an agent of randomness, this variant has the most 'fun' factor going for it and makes it my favorite Scarlet Witch to date.
Overall Cosmetic Rating - 7/10
Resources
Boosters - One full upgrade set of boosters for each card is nice. Additionally, after using the Variant Gallery Customize tool for both cards, I can state that they DO look good in their foil states as well. Add in some Krackle and man, these are going to be stellar variants to split (just not inked...that's a waste).
Credits - 3500 Credits could be poured right into these two cards if you wish. Or, split another card two more times. Either way, for the $10 USD price point, it's pretty close to an even trade off versus outright Gold to Credit purchase.
Overall Resource Rating - 5/10

Looking at the combination of playability and resource value, I see two cards that have very different use cases and an artist with a very different following. With Rian's work, either you love it, or you hate it; And, I can respect that. However, even as someone who is more on the side of love it, knowing that the credit value is mediocre doesn't justify obtaining a Rescue variant that I may (literally) never play. So, I'm sorry Rian, but...
