Conquest Mode is coming this month to Marvel Snap!
We all thought it. Someone just had to say it...write it? You get the idea. One of the longest-awaited modes to come to Marvel Snap is finally premiering later this month, June 2023.
The announcement came as a surprise in the latter half of the developer update video that dropped on YouTube. With the assistance of an alter ego in his best J. Jonah Jameson impression, Ben Brode came forward and announced more details regarding Conquest Mode, the Conquest Shop, and how to unlock specialty rewards and prizes.
Conquest Mode will take the best of what we have been learning in Battle Mode and apply it in a new way. No further need to pair up with somebody, share the code, wait for them to realize you've messaged them, unlock the game, finally get the code in, etc. Now, you'll have the ability to hop right into a Conquest Mode battle and climb your way up through the different ranks.
There are four different levels of difficulty in Conquest. The Proving Grounds, Silver Conquest, Gold Conquest and Infinity Conquest. As Julie Andrews once said, “Let's start from the very beginning.” Let's go on a journey through Conquest together to best understand how your journey will play out. Your initial entry into conquest is free. The Proving Grounds is the first level of pairing and difficulty matchmaking that you encounter.
Once you click Enter, you will be paired up with an opponent in your Global region to try to win that Battle Mode-style battle. For the sake of brevity, let's say that you won. Congratulations! I knew you could do it. Now what? You've been rewarded with 15 Medals and one Silver Ticket. It's time to move on to the next level of competition, the Silver Conquest.
As expected, the top prize for Silver Conquest is a gold ticket, plus now more (120) Medals. The only difference is that now you must win back-to-back Conquest matches to be able to progress. Once again, for the sake of brevity, let's say that you won your first match! Congratulations…again! However (uh-oh), you lost your second match. Womp. While you may not have gotten the Golden Ticket, you will get a prorated number of Medals as a consolation prize. Medals can be redeemed in the Conquest Shop for a variety of prizes.
For 50 Medals, you will be able to buy another Silver Ticket for entry into a Silver Conquest. Note: You may have to go through some more rounds in the Proving Grounds to round up some more Medals to buy another ticket. Otherwise, you’ll have the option to save some time and simply expend 80 Gold and go right into your next attempt. So don’t give up! Try again! You can do it!
Let’s say you're now at your next attempt and you consecutively win two Silver Conquest Battles. Congratulations! I told you! I knew that you could do it. You've been awarded 120 Medals and a Gold Ticket. Let's move on to the Gold Conquest.
Now it's getting a little bit more difficult. You now need to win THREE battles in a row. Granted, the prize is much more prestigious (with 370 Medals and an Infinity Ticket on the line), but the challenge is much more apparent, and the mountain is taller to climb. Again, you have prorated Medals at two different intervals you can achieve based on your successes (only one win or two wins, aka not completing the Conquest).
The Proving Grounds, Silver Conquest and Gold Conquest will consistently be available throughout the season. The nice thing about all this Conquest Battle-ing is that the Conquest Shop has a wide variety of different prizes that you can unlock using Medals. Mystery Variants, Credits, Titles, Boosters, Gold, and Avatars all be found here as rewards for your efforts. You can farm all these amazing rewards and unlock the exclusive Conquest content. Or save up those medals for the final week of the season…you may need them. (This may also be a pretty good time to pick your favorite avatar. You’ll see…)
Infinity Conquest is reserved exclusively for the final week of the season. So, players will have only one week to win FIVE Conquest matches in a row. This is NO easy task. This truly will showcase the best of the best and should be rewarded as such. So, what do you win? Battles 1-4 will net you 875 Medals, and the fifth and final battle will grant 500 more. That’s 1375 Medals in total for Infinity Conquest dominance! But that’s not all. PLUS…remember when I said to pick your favorite avatar?
The avatar that you used in that final, winning battle will be upgraded to the premier and prestigious Infinity Border! Talk about the ultimate FLEX cosmetic!
