"We are supposed to be the good guys." - Gwen Stacy
I agree and truly think that Ghost-Spider IS one of the good guys...girls...ones. She has single-handedly brought life back into the move archetype and forced a different cerebral and mathematical level into the game within 24 hours.
So what do I do with all of that?
I start a new series! As new cards and new decks come out on Day One, I will start compiling a few select decks from the Snap.fan community that I think are worth showcasing and are worthy of much more playing and/or testing for Day Two. There are some amazing deck builders in this Snap community, so why not give everyone a little spotlight! If you'd like your deck showcased, just build one here in the Snap.fan Deck Builder! After 24 hours, I will go through play rates, win rates, cube rates, successful synergies, unique synergies, online content and more and pick out five decks that I think are worth talking more about here in our Deck Showcase.
With that said, here are five decks I think are worth highlighting after 24-hours of Ghost-Spider:
Stop & Move 2.0 - MOLT
The 'Master of Move' was able to improve his best deck by adding Ghost-Spider! By dropping Polaris as a defensive piece to re-control the battlefield in his favor, Ghost-Spider allows that plus another move ramp simultaneously on your side. This allows for yet another scaling possibility on Angela and helps to create an unreal set-up on turn four/five with Cloak and Dagger.
Surf Move - dekkster
Any time I get to see a new, yet successful, variation of Silver Surfer decks, I'm all for it. Even for a move deck, it can still successfully rock the Brood package and scale power via movement and Silver Surfer. Having three 'move-to-scale' cards in here (Dagger, Kraven and Vulture) helps incentivize the cheap nature of this deck, which basically has nothing higher than three power (since you're almost always going to have Miles Morales available for one power due to the movements). This is a fun take on SS Decks and is easy to pilot for a move deck.
Tempo Good Stuff - Spawn
This deck has some proof of concept built into it: Ghost-Spider is more than a move card. Utilizing Daredevil to decide the set-up for turn five is a nice element in figuring out your layout for turn four. Playing into lines like Vulture intoGhost-Spider, Star-Lord into Wave, and Polaris into Ghost-Spider, or even a straight-up Gamora for 12-power smack, shows the power of knowledge when building a good cards deck using Ghost-Spider's tech. I think this deck is the gateway for something much bigger too. What that is, I don't know, but I feel like we'll see it in Conquest Mode.
Beastly Movement - TeddyNinja
I love the simplicity of being able to run this deck smoothly. It is a bounce deck with high consistency due to almost every card having only one or two costs. In turn, the ability to take your team in the first two turns to assess your opponent is optimal while running base groundwork. This enables the deck to scale incredibly high by turn five in preparation for a potential wave play or, even better, a massive turn 6 mega drop/move.
Shuri is Back - ItsGuestGaming
Ok, I promise this isn't shameless self-promotion. Here's why...
At the time of writing this article, this deck was the top-performing deck using Ghost-Spider in the first 24 hours. It's built on the idea of using Ghost-Spider as a tech card rather than a move enabler. Moving the Shuri'd Typhoid Mary/Aero/Red Skull is a huge win play that throws your opponent off on turn five or six and can help move you out of sticky situations. Plus, having her be able to retro-actively move an Ebony Maw on turn 4 can also be useful to flip your opponent's script on locations to beef up if they think you've locked it too early. Hulkbuster ends up being a huge piece of it too, as it transforms the card it attaches to into the definition of "the Last Card Played." This then makes it the target for Ghost-Spider's and Task-Master's effects. The huge power on the board that this deck can drop is very difficult to match up against as it spreads over three lanes and moves easily thanks to the new season pass card, Ghost-Spider.
