"I lost my life all over again, and I realized something. I don't need to 'find myself.' I don't need a new 'thing.' Because I already have it. Being Silk. " - Cindy Moon
In the midst of the news yesterday, Silk alsmost got left in the dust as news to talk about. The neewest card to drop in the game has created some unique play options that we knew were going to be fun...but to be frank...the jury is still out. Whether it be Conquest Mode, Patch Notes, shiny datamines or server issues (AWS...not Marvel Snaps servers), not too many players have gotten a true feel yet for what Silk is bringing to the game. So...let's give you all a push in the right direction on seeing the potential of Silk.
As new cards and new decks come out on Day One, I compile a few select decks from the Snap.fan community that I think are worth showcasing and are worthy of much more playing and/or testing for Day Two. If you'd like your deck showcased, just build one here in the Snap.fan Deck Builder! After 24 hours, I go through play rates, win rates, cube rates, successful synergies, unique synergies, online content and more and pick out five decks that I think are worth talking more about here in our Deck Showcase.
With that said, here are five decks I think are worth highlighting after 24-hours of Silk:
Silk Stat - RegisKillbin
I like this list because it brings back painful memories. Since the nerf of the Stature/Blackbolt package, many people have moved away from this dynamic duo. This list helps to show that it still is a strong combo and having the strong stat line of 2/5 provided by Silk can help in, essentially, any lane at any time. Lots of fun gameplay from this deck and I put it as my number one because I think it is the best representation of how big the 2/5 Silk stat line is.
Silk Bounce - Dekkster
Is it bounce? Is it move? Is it confusing? Yes, yes, and yes. This deck brings out the best of each archetype, while having big point swing potential on turn 6. Setting up a Beast bounce on 4, followed by a Sera, leans into a massively 5-6 card drop on turn 6 that your opponent just can’t keep up with.
Sera Silk - Paperr
I love that this deck takes the idea that Dekkster had and brings it moving into the bounce archetype line a little bit more. Adding in cards like Angela, Bishop, and Hit-Monkey as the power ramps along side Kraven keep the opponent guessing on which version f the hybrid your deck leans towards. These variations are what will keep the archetype strong because it is nearly impossible to predict which version of each you are playing.
SpiderDuck - ExplodiumGaming
Let’s be honest here. Any deck that features Howard the Duck in my opinion is worth looking at. The security of strategy projection that he brings to the table, coupled with Iron Lad’s ability to replicate multiple positive effect options is huge. Since this deck survives on the backs of the turn 5 lock out effects of Professor X and Spider-Man, coupled with the Storm/Juggernaut package, it is a lane control deck that allows Silk’s synergy with movement into ‘hard to reach’ lanes to shine.
Cerebro 5 - Bynx
Someone had to do it…right? While Cerebro is a difficult archetype to have consistent, or competitive, success in, it still is a load of fun. Having Silk shine under this umbrella as a 2/7, partnered with the newly buffed Medusa, allows the security play of Wave into Doctor Doom to feel consistent, even when needing to play this line of Cerebro earlier on either turn 3 or 4.
