Let's take a look at Ghost-Spider...
Note: Some of the above variants are datamined at the time of article release and are subject to SD's backend release decisions.
Ghost-Spider is a 2/3 with an On Reveal effect of "The last card you played moves here."
Doesn't that effect make your theory-crafting brain go crazy? Think about it. At a 2-cost stat line, this effect provides a wide variety of synergies. It doesn't matter if it is in a move deck or not; this effect could be applied to a variety of different cards and synergize to create some amazing later round plays.
Let's showcase a few cards in the Move archetype...
- Dagger: Giving Dagger yet another mechanic to move around the battlefield in the final turns is a stellar setup play on turns four and five.
- Vulture: Another +5 to Vulture for only 2-cost is a tremendous value that isn't worth overlooking.
- Human Torch: We now have a way to get Human Torch moved before turn three after being played on turn one! Could this be the resurrection of the Human Torch in the Move archetype? Or does he still need "Killmonger Protection"?
Now let's showcase a few cards out of the Move archetype...
- Hulkbuster: When Hulkbuster absorbs into another card, that absorbed card is now considered the last card played. So, Ghost-Spider should be able to move that newly buster-buffed card, which opens up a world of options!
- Medusa: Medusa can FINALLY leave the middle lane! Ghost-Spider shifting her over to either the left or the right on turn three is a nice midgame power swing move to keep the opponent on their toes.
- Aero: Yes, I know I said this was outside of the move archetype. But I look at this one as a stellar control mechanic. Playing Aero into a lane that your opponent is already dominating creates a lack of power spread for the opponent on turn five. Then, Ghost-Spider brings Aero over to her lane on turn six to help contest, and swings that 8-power back in your favor!
Day One Deck Ideas
Moves Like Dagger
Highlighting the best of what can move around the battlefield, Ghost-Spider has multiple targets that she can capitalize on as explained above. Plus, adding in the Angela synergy to ramp her up even more gives great strength to yet another stacking 2-cost card in the deck.
Shuri Is Back
Yup. You read that right. Ghost-Spider is the way out of being stuck in the Shuri+"INSERT-LARGE-CARD-HERE" lane restriction. Combine that with Sauron's powerful ability to remove the harmful Ongoing effects off of Red Skull, Typhoid Mary, Lizard and Ebony Maw and you get a flexible, yet moveable, big power deck.
