Great Web
After each turn, move one card to the Web for a random player.
The Featured Location from June 27th, 2023 at 11pm EST to June 28th, 2023 at 11pm EST is Great Web. As a featured location, it will have a 50% chance to appear in any ladder match. Now you must make a choice:
- Build INTO It
- Build AROUND It
- Ignore it
What happens when you take Asteroid-M and give it some caffeine? Great Web. This location is erratic, random, spontaneous, and chaotic. YET it doesn't remove agency from the player. It's perfect. It's the epitome of a true Marvel Snap location. I love it. And...for these 24-hours, you should embrace it too.
How to Build INTO it:
- Vulture and Dagger should be no brainers. They move, they scale.
- The newest card to come to Marvel Snap, Spider-Man 2099, is a perfect fit for this location. If he moves, he REMOVES A CARD ENTIRELY. Yeah, I'm down for that.
- Juggernaut is a great turn 5/6 play directly into Great Web as it is nearly guarenteed to have cards placed in there by that time. Reduce, remove, Juggernaut.
- Kingpin also is a great control card as you have two ways to play it. Play it early to force your opponent to want to fill the location prior to turn 6, or play it later to surprise your opponent and have a random card be eliminated.
How to Build AROUND it:
- Colossus can't move or be destroyed. Lock him down. Period.
- Professor X could come in cheeky handy during theser 24 hours as locations have inconsistent point tallys due to random movements from the Great Web. This could be an easy way to secure a location for Turn 5 and create incredible control going into turn 6 knowing exactly which cards could potentially move and how.
- Ghost-Spider is a great resuce play if you're needing to secure some turn 3/4/5 power in a location and are getting hurt by its movement. Sling them back where you need them and pretend nothing happened.
- Brood fills in the last spot to help clog the location as quickly as possible, giving limited range for the Great Web, but increasing stability of your plays in the other two locations. Use him wisely.
When all else fails, destroy it.
Running either Storm, Rhino or Scarlet Witch will switch the location, therefore eliminating the ability entirely.
Deck Suggestion
Into the Surfer-Verse
- Please don't hurt me for recommending a Surfer deck. But this one is hard to ignore.
- Look at all the 3-cost cards that benefit from this location. Practically every single one here has a synergy, either offensively or defensively, and its magical. It is a bit of a thinner 3-cost lineup over all to make way from some tech cards in this Surfer+Move package.
- I can't not put Spider-Ham. In my opinion, he's a top 10 card in the game and his control outweighs other options like Iceman, Human Torch and Nightcrawler/
- Kraven makes more than perfect sense as he ends up with free ramp up when played down onto this location. This transforms him potentially from a 2/2+? to being potentially a 2/10+? with little concern.
- Miles Morales shines and becomes a 1-cost card every turn Great Web is on the field. This makes his 1/5 stat line incredibly juicy.
- Overall, the hybrid feels right and I look forward to testing this one out live on stream myself!
