Lamentis-1
Draw 3 cards. Destroy both decks.
Now you must make a choice:
- Build INTO It
- Build AROUND It
- Ignore it
How to Build INTO & AROUND it:
It's a little different because of the nature of this location. Building into it IS technically building around it.
- While looking over the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., I settled on only recommending Agent 13 due to her variety and cost. When you start looking at Maria Hill, Agent Coulson or the newly improved Nick Fury, given the number cards predicted to be in your hand at each time of being played, it actually seems slightly counterintuitive. So, by focusing the same mechanic and variety for the lowest cost, Agent 13 appears to be the best card generator of the bunch today.
- Kitty Pryde makes a lot of sense too as a bouncing bundle of power. You'll always have room in your hand for her to bounce back and the value of energy to power with her is consistent enough to say that she can benefit from Lamentis-1.
- Sentinel seems like a no-brainer to me. Play it and ALWAYS bring another one in your hand. So no matter what Lamentis-1 destroys, you'll always have sentinels to play, even if your hand is filled with 6-cost cards.
- Doctor Octopus may be a favorite cheeky play today as he can ruin an opponents turn 6 under these conditions. Typically with Lamentis, with full knowledge of your hand for the rest of your match in front of you, many players can forecast every move they are going to make through turn 6. By ruining that potential, and possibly dumping their entire hand in the process for turn 6, this could end up being one of the best plays of the day.
- Leader also shines today as you work towards the 'initiative' game. If you play him, your goal is to have initiative going into turn 6. This then means you probably have the lead in two lanes, and Leader enables you to possibly maintain that lead as your opponent plays their 'big card' or 'winning card' and you get to even copy it. This allows you the strength of snapping going into turn five as well if you can see you'll initiative on the final turn.
- America Chavez is exclusively there to be destroyed. Reduce the chance of all other cards being destroyed by ensuring she is. Probability = your friend.
When all else fails, destroy it...proactively...maybe.
Scarlet Witch will switch a location, so you could MAYBE prevent it from appearing on the third location if it hasn't appear yet by playing Scarlet Witch on the right lane while it is still unrevealed. However...the use case for this is incredibly small. No love for Storm or Rhino today.
Deck Suggestion
Dino-1
- I've revert back to an old classic archtype, the Double Devil Dino. This style I think will fit brilliantly with this location in particular. But Guest, you're not drawing cards! How will Dino get any power? Easily, when five of the cards here bounce something into your hand to keep it loaded between 5-7 cards at all times, the lack of deck is less of a concern.
- Kitty Pryde, Agent 13, Sentinel, Moon Girl, and White Queen all generate cards back into your hand via duplication, robbery, or return. SO The Collector has a chance to shine because of that. Remember, if he build up to even a 2/4, hes above average.
- White Queen is a long forgetten classic that in this specific location shines because of the insight she gives going into turn 5/6...plus stealing a copy never hurts...
- So with this all said, you have two routes to think about. When Lamentis IS and IS NOT present. I think this deck creates enough offensive and defensive options, given the circumstances, that it will hold a candle to any other "Lamendestroyed" opponent.
