Today’s Special: Deadpool’s Chimichanga
Even the Merc With a Mouth has to eat and there is nothing he likes more than his famous chimichangas!
You know, I don’t really like chimichangas, I just find the name funny.
Well whatever, my chimichangas are the best in the world. Don’t even think of breaking one of my fourth walls and leaving before you try it. Also, don’t think about wonder why my Taco Truck only has chimichangas
On this July 31st, Taco Truck will be included in our roster of awesome locations in our beloved game. And by pure coincidence, believe or not, the location will also be the hot location for that day, meaning that you will see it in around 50% of your games on the last day of July.
So what does the location do?
Huh, interesting, when Taco Truck is revealed, both players get a ‘chimichanga’ card into their hands. But what is a chimichanga? Well, it’s like a deep fried burri– Oh on the game? Let’s find out:
Oh isn’t it neat and delicious? Chimichangas are 0-Cost 2-Power cards with the On-Reveal effect of merging with one of your cards in this location. It’s like a free slightly smaller HulkBuster:
That's awesome! A new location that doesn’t ruin my chances of winning! But how do we increase our chances of winning if Taco Truck decides to pay us a visit? Well, we’ll need someone that uses that extra +2 power with maximum effort! Anyone come to mind?
Just show them my card, loser!
Ok, no need to get antsy, Mr. Pool.
Deadpool would devour with gusto that delicious chimichanga. Any extra power he gets his hands on is doubled every time he is destroyed. So, destroy him again and again and double that extra power from the chimichanga with every destruction. Don’t worry he doesn’t mind as he always comes back with a smile.
You didn’t do a great job describing how awesome I am and how much more awesome I’ll be filled up with chimichangas. Your writing sucks.
Whatever, you’re always like that when you’re hungry.
Let's talk about someone cooler. There is also another guy– I don’t know if he counts as a guy, he is mostly a future robot death machine thingy. Nimrod loves being destroyed and would also appreciate his last meal to be a chimichanga. But don’t be sad about the death robot, every time he is destroyed he makes two copies of himself on the other two locations, and those copies get to keep all the buffs the original had, including the extra power brought by that savory fried treat.
The hottest member of the Fantastic Four would love chimichangas. If he starts the game with that extra power, every time he doubles up by moving would be elevated quite quickly and give you the power of the sun in the palm of your hands.
These I would consider the big three ‘Chimichanga Chasers’, there are some other cool plays you could make with chimichangas but I wouldn’t call it that impactful. Let’s do a lightning round with the next few guys:
Feed a chimichanga to a Black Panther before ‘Zolaing’ him.
You could also feed Sebastian Shaw or Daken to get that extra spicy double up.
Instantaneous energy by feeding Hope Summers on the same turn you drop her.
Werewolf By Night getting a whiff of that delicious fried goodness could move him for free while you empower another one of your cards.
Maybe you give the chimichanga to Nico Minoru when she has the doubling her power effect making her a 8-Power 1-Drop?
Phew, that's a lot of hungry people and not enough chimichangas to feed them all. Let’s just look at some decks then:
Dualgloves Day 1 Taco Truck Decks
Deadpool Dies at the End
The classics are classics for a reason. This deck has stood the test of time and it still remains competitive. You should know the drill by now, get your cards that want to be destroyed on the board, destroy them and get money. Don’t forget to get the chimichanga onto Deadpool if the opportunity arrives. Wait– is the name of the deck a spoiler?
Dierods
This is the second time I’m recommending this deck and for good reason. It doesn’t work every single time, but when it does it's amazing. Just remember to set up your destruction on the side locations in order to re-trigger Venom or Destroyer with GrandMaster. Try to give the chimichangas to the pink robot please.
Feed the Flames
As the name of the deck suggests, you better use those chimichangas on our Human Torch or Phoenix Force. Do your Phoenix shenanigans if it shows up but when it doesn’t, you’ll always have the secondary win condition of using Nimrods.
Good Old Heimdall, Nothing Beats That
Do you like solving a puzzle every game of Snap? Look no further, Classic Move is on the rise and nothing can beat that if you plan 4 turns ahead on where to move your cards. If in doubt, always play heimdall on turn 6, 50% of the time it works every time. The chimichanga once again goes into the Human Torch if Possible.
Just Surfer
Just classic surfer, but using and abusing the supply of powerful new 3-drops. If you play Hope and give her a chimichanga on turn 3, you can play a very early Sera and follow her up with a ton of cards on turn 5 and 6. Shaw also enjoys chimichanga and gets +4 if you use it on him.
Afterthoughts
I love Taco Truck! I really appreciate when new locations are beneficial to players instead of annoying or outright obnoxious. It will be an uncommon location, meaning that you won’t see it that often after its inauguration but I bet that whenever it shows up, the match will be a fun one.
As always, I hope that I was able to give you some ideas on what to do on that day and I would love to get your input on my writing so tell me if you have any secret strategy for Taco Truck. Also, did I miss anything really Obvious like I usually do? And most importantly, do you prefer burritos or chimichangas?
Is this R rated? Am I allowed to drop a curse word to describe this lame article?
No one cares what you like Deadpool, and breaking the fourth wall is getting old!
