Marvel Snap Man-Thing Community Spotlight & Initial Reactions
The official Marvel Snap YouTube channel posted a video showcasing the newest card Man–Thing being used by the content creator Freddybabes (twitch.tv/freddybabes). Man-Thing is a 4 cost with 5 power that reads Ongoing: 1, 2, and 3-Cost Cards here have -2 Power. If you would like to obtain Man-Thing, you can do so with 3,000 collector tokens or through spotlight cache’s up until October 17th. Man-Thing will return to spotlight caches on December 12th according to the information we currently have.
Card Change Observations
During the video, there seemed to be a few changes to cards on the test server build Freddybabes was playing on. Before I go into these changes, please be aware that these changes are not confirmed and are purely observations made while viewing the video.
- Alioth is a 6/4 rather than a 6/5.
- Black Widow's Widow's Bite is a 0/-1 rather than a 0/0.
- White Tiger added an 8 power Tiger rather than a 7 power.
- Forge is a 1/1.
- This may mean he will give +2 rather than +3 however the text is unknown.
- Ravonna is not a 3 cost anymore?
- She was not present in the 3 cost section during the video and was not seen as a 2/3 or 2/2.
- Elektra is not a 1 cost anymore?
- She was not present in the 1 cost section during the video.
Man-Thing Initial Reactions
I was lucky enough to pick up Man-Thing for 3,000 collector tokens upon release. After playing some conquest games with the card, I believe Man-Thing is a okay card that may have potential once other cards come into the game like Selene and Annihilus. The tricky part about Man-Thing currently is that his counters completely negate his ability, hold more value in the meta, and are featured in prominent deck lists.
I do believe Man-Thing will gain value once he is more of a surprise and has more tools to build a optimal deck list that features him. If you are looking to pick up Man-Thing, I would suggest using collector tokens rather than spotlight caches at this time. What does everyone else initially think about Man-thing? Below you will find some other opinions about our swamp monster along with some deck lists and also hopefully your opinion in the comments section. Have a BEWDiful Day!
