Welcome back to Meta Monday! The meta has not changed much with zero balance changes over this last week. The meta has condensed a little bit actually with more people opting to play the best strategies or trying to counter the best strategies.
Pillar One: Agent Venom
Agent Venom decks are still amongst the most popular in the current meta game with different versions taking up about 11-12% of the meta game, especially post-infinite. This is the exact sentence I started off this section with last week. The two main decks are still the same as well as the Sera counter decks trying to use Agent Venom but counter the meta game at the same time.
Agent Venom 1
Agent Venom 2
Sera 1
Sera 2
With no balance changes this deck has been running rampant as Cosmo and the other Ongoing cards provide too much power, especially with the boost from Agent Venom.
Pillar Two: Storm Machine
Taking over the second spot in the meta game is the Storm War Machine lockdown decks that can contend with a lot of the agent venom decks on power as well as have a lockdown strategy for anything else that essentially asks any other deck in the format, do you have a response, and if you don’t then you are dead.
Storm Machine 1
Storm Machine 2
While these are nothing new to the format we are seeing some slight hybrid decks that take the same Idea but add the scream move package to the mix with Storm Machine.

Pillar Three: Discard and Meta Counters
With the latest card release being a Discard card, it makes sense that a lot more players have been playing Discard. While Discard is fine and doing pretty well it doesn’t always have the best states because it lacks spots for tech cards and is more face-up than other decks. Also, with Cosmo at about a 30% play rate at the moment, sometimes Discard can have a hard time getting it's discard critical mass to gain the points to win.
Discard
The other parts of the meta game are the same old decks as before. Arishem, Move, Bounce, Destroy, and then your counter decks that include U.S. Agent to counteract the Iron Mans and Klaws from the Agent Venom decks.

Meta Cards
Because the meta game has not moved a lot players have started to include a number of cards as a reaction to the main decks.
Cosmo
This is one of the main cards included in the top decks at the moment. Cosmo in general just helps protect any big cards or Ongoing cards from being affected as well as shutting down different combos like Bounce, Destroy, and Discard. If you don’t see Cosmo a lot, count yourself lucky.
Rogue
Because the main pillars in the format all bank on Ongoing cards to boost their numbers as well as shut down the game Rogue is a great tech card to include in your list. It can steal your opponent's War Machine, Iron Man, Speed, or Klaw. There are a lot of options in the current meta for Rogue to be useful.
Super Skrull
Along the same lines as Rogue, Super Skrull is starting to become an important tech card. Because a lot of the main decks are running Cosmo, Skrull gets around that and still competes on power. Iron Man in a lane is not as big a deal if you also have your own Iron Man in the same lane. Oh, the opponent thought they were locking you out with Legion, well Super Skrull says otherwise.
Meta Health
Overall, the meta is starting to trend in an unhealthy direction because it has been stagnant for a decent amount of time. None of the recent balance changes have shaken up the meta as much as players would have hoped and the same deck that has been on top since the start of the season is still that same deck. There is some counterplay and most decks are more midrange-style decks instead of heavy combo or clog decks like previous metas so it isn’t all bad. But, the meta game is condensing slightly as time goes on making it less healthy than some players would like. What do you think of the current meta?
