Mid-October Tier List: Ranked & Conquest Deck Archetypes
Look Where We Are Now
October and the start of the new Bloodstone season has brought about a spine-chilling meta. You have archetypes that have been mainstays in the meta such as Shuri Clone and Patriot Lad but also Loki holding strong as one of the best archetypes despite various nerfs. Goblins, ghouls, and swamp inhabitants too are frightening Marvel Snap players for cubes.
Although there have been some strong mainstays in the meta, this has caused a substantial drop off when looking at other archetypes spot on the list. One example I will give that you can see below is the sheer gap from the first ranked Shuri Clone that is at a 59.98% win percentage in pre-infinite while the twentieth ranked Cerebro 3 is at a 50.22% win percentage. You may be thinking the gap is supposed to be wide from first to twentieth on the Pre-Infinite Win percentage tier list, however comparing it to last month’s first and twentieth can bring about some concern. Last month’s first ranked archetype under the Pre-Infinite Win percent tier list was Loki at a 60.45% win percentage while the twentieth was Negative Bast at 53.47%.
That is almost a 3% increase on the gap between first and twentieth for the Pre-Infinite. For Post Infinite when comparing last months and this month’s data, the gap between first and twentieth was a 5.64% increase. The problem when analyzing these data points is that the strong archetypes are too strong which makes it incredibly difficult for other archetypes to have the viability the top decks have at every level of the ranked ladder.
One card I do want to highlight is Phoenix Force. From being a disappointment to being a commanding card in its own archetype, Phoenix Force can compete against some of the most popular archetypes found in Marvel Snap. One of the factors working in favor of Phoenix Force is that tech cards like Armor and Cosmo seem to be less prevalent currently. This enables many aspects found in the Phoenix Force archetypes as well as allows for deck list variations to fit different player preferences within the archetype. The more prominent variations you’ll find include Shuri with Red Skull, more Destroy aspects like Arnim Zola as well as Nimrod, and more Move aspects like adding Heimdall. I hope more archetypes like Phoenix Force continue to compete with the top and level out the gaps seen throughout each tier list.
As you’ll see below, I have broken down the meta decks into a few different categories and then proved an overall tier list. You will see a win % and average cube rate tier list for all ranks along with post infinite as well as for win % in the conquest ranks of silver and gold. These tier lists will be compiled into an overall tier list to rank the decks from S tier to D tier. I can’t wait to hear from you in the comments and have a BEWDiful Day!
Breakdown on how the tier list is justified and ranked:
Tier List Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 1% meta share of the seen percentage in CL 3000+.
- Must have a positive cube rate from our Snap.fan Tracker results.
Tier Breakdown:
S-Tier: These decks are the top performers in the scope of the meta. They had the best overall matchups, cube rate, and climb percentage at the time of the tier list release.
A-Tier: These decks are consistent and solid performers in the scope of the meta. They have consistently good matchups and will overall permit a steady climb up the ladder. They may not be the top decks for consistency in wins, but they will still overall net a positive cube gain.
B-Tier: These decks lean more toward a representation of challenge. They end up averaging close to zero overall cube gain due to a mix of higher skill and higher opportunity chance while playing them. This results in a mix of decks that are ‘fun’ and surprising. However, they may not be ideal for climbing the ladder within the scope of the meta.
C&D-Tier: These decks are off-meta underperformers compared to those decks in the S, A, and B tiers. They have poorer matchups and, as a result, lead to a negative average cube gain. While their presence in the meta is relevant, their consistency is not.
